Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in nature. The 6 bedrooms at DueNorth-Saur Cottages has two fully furnished family suites. Each suite has two bedrooms, a dining room, a sitting area and a private bathroom. Each suite can comfortably sleep 4-5 people. In addition , there are two fully furnished independent cottages that comfortably sleep 2 people each. Each cottage has two beds and a private bathroom. Note: We would like to clarify that we aren't located in the core Kaudia Range! DueNorth Saur Cottages offers you a unique opportunity to enjoy the quaint charm of Saur. The cottages are old Pahadi houses which have stood the test of time. These have been restored using locally available stones and pine wood, as per traditional architectural practices in the region. The original character has been carefully preserved to showcase age old practices and heritage. The village of Saur is said to have been established by Rajasthani Rajputs and boasted a population of more than 2000 people until the 1960s. The absence of a road and electricity resulted in migration to villages closer to road heads and cities like Dehradun. Currently we have 12 families who inhabit the village.

I was very disappointed with my stay at DueNorth-Saur Cotrages. The online advertising made it look like a beautiful and secluded getaway, but in reality, it was a long and difficult journey to reach, and the cottage itself was in poor condition. The last 10 kilometers of the journey to the cottage were on a rough patch, which was very uncomfortable and made me worry about my car. When I finally arrived at the cottage, I was greeted by a strong smell of cigarettes and alcohol. The room was small and dingy, and the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was also in poor condition, with a dirty sink and shower. When I asked for the room to be made up, the staff simply straightened the bed. They didn't even bother to change the sheets and towels which were stained and dirty. The towels were also stained, and they smelled of smoke. Didnt expected such listing on airbnb. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay. I would not recomme

Note: After a couple of feedbacks that we appreciate, we would like to clarify that Saur Cottages isn't located in the core Kaudia Range, but is surrounded by Kaudia Forest. The address mentioned is autofilled based on the location.
The charm of Saur is in its freshness, and quietness. With very few families residing here, the noise is hardly there, and the silence is seldom interrupted by an odd vehicle noise, children, or a drunk neighbour from time to time.
Being so few in numbers, the locals are always willing to help each other, tilling each other's fields, to take care of their livestock if a family needs to travel for a few days.
We feel, the neighbourhood is the main character of Saur.

Saur cottage is located at 5600ft in the Kanatal region of Uttarakhand's Tehri District. Saur is approximately 13kms from Chamba (Uttarakhand) and 10kms off the Rishikesh - Chamba - Mussoorie state highway, between Chamba and Mussoorie.
