From the moment we arrived, my family and I were delighted with our choice to stay at Riverbank House. The location opposite the Winter Palace, directly on the West Bank of the Nile is not only very convenient, but offers spellbinding views by day and night. A quick tour of the house and prompt answers to our questions as well as the offer to show us around Luxor left us feeling assured that we could expect to have an enjoyable stay in Luxor. What followed was one of the best experiences we’ve had on holiday in general, not just in Egypt. For five days we were made to feel at home in the house as well as in and around Luxor. Expert guidance on our visit to the ancient Tombs and general tips when we went out on our own were beyond what we expected and immensely enjoyable. Breakfasts and dinners were culinary celebrations, every meal, absolute magic! We’re looking forward to our next visit and will carry Riverbank House as well as our hosts in our hearts until then!

Fabulous villa and service - just as described in the details and shown in the photos. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Nile with Luxor Temple opposite is an unforgettable experience. The villa is very spacious. Living room/dining room was a good place to meet in the evenings when the terrace was chilly (we visited during Egypt's winter in January/February). Above all, the service provided was outstanding. Khyry looks after everything from meeting people at the airport (no worries about getting to the villa), to booking trips, and sharing his huge knowledge of Egyptian history. Sayeed, the housekeeper, never rests in keeping the guests happy. Mahmood is a chef to die for (please note meals cost extra. Altogether, a book-it-yourself holiday in Luxor could not be easier. We have come home with every intention to stay again. Thank you!

The villa was beautiful and as described in the pictures. Kahyr picked up us from the Aiport and made us feel at ease straight away. The chef Mahmoud cooked us some beautful dinners and breakfasts when we requested, all for a very reasonable price in comparison to outside food prices. All rooms had air conditioning which made the rooms lovely and cool when we needed a break from the heat outside. Khayr was always on hand and helpful in answering questions and arranging trips etc. Housekeeper Saeed was always on hand inside the villa to help with anything we needed such as laundry etc which was so helpful. There was so much to do in Luxor we couldn't fit it all in but kids loved the camel ride tour of some of the West Bank, trips to Karnak/Luxor temple and the night cruise from Aswan to Luxor was beautiful. Felucca night sunset sail was very relaxing. All in all a great trip and a great place with great people!

The Riverbank House is a fantastic home, combining authenticity and comfort in an elegant way. It is located on the Westbank of Luxor, making it more peaceful and calm than the „city-side“ of the Nile. We spent three weeks there and also got to know the neighbourhood - some great places to eat and shop, as well as the boat guys taking you across the river. The house offers a great opportunity to get to know Egyptian people as this side of the Nile seems less touristy than the other. During our stay we were supported by Saeed, the housekeeper, who not only helped prepare simple dishes, but also did room service and laundry. There would have also been the possibility to have a cook, however, we decided to cook on our own or eat out. During the night, there is also a watchman. Wifi is good (better than in most hotels in Egypt) and the pool is fantastic to cool down after a trip to the Valley of the Kings. We strongly recommend this place, especially for large parties of up to 10.

C’était notre premier grand voyage avec les enfants. La maison était typique,jolie et très bien située,rive ouest. La terrasse sur le toit nous offrez la vue sur le Nil et nous a permis de prendre les repas.Nous avons profite de la piscine pendant les heures les plus chaudes,les enfants étaient ravis!James nous a conseillé leur guide Khyry, qui parle anglais.Nous avons fait le programme de la semaine avec lui sur place.Nous avons fait l’essentiel des visites avec lui.Les enfants essayaient de comprendre et nous traduisions . Il nous a proposé un guide français pour une journée de visite pour que ce soit plus digeste pour les enfants .Nous nous sommes levés très tôt toute la semaine mais nous avons eu le privilège d’être sur les sites avant la foule .Nous avons visité des temples auxquels nous n’avions pas pense.Khyry a été très bon dans la qualité de l’organisation de notre semaine. Saïd s’est tellement bien occupé de nous. Il était extrêmement gentil et prenait soin des enfants.Merci
