Enjoy quality time with friends and family in a nature-drenched oasis, whilst enjoying everything this unique region has to offer. This spectacular retreat-style house boasts epic sunset views of Wollumbin and is surrounded by 7 acres of forested hills; let the magic of nature restore and uplift you! Located only 2km from the quirky township of Uki, and 40min from Gold Coast airport, 50mins to Byron Bay, it is both peaceful and convenient, however you might not want to leave this sanctuary! This house begs you to take a moment with your morning coffee to feel the expansive possibility in life and draw inspiration from the forest and mountain views all around you. The house is built in the Bush Pavilion style- modeled on Balinese houses but adapted for life in the Australian bush. Soaring ceilings, exposed timber beams, large open plan living and wrap around glass give this home a feeling of majestic spaciousness. Wollumbin mountain soars in the distance. Open up the large glass doors and many windows on a summer day for refreshing breezes, or light the fire place to stay cozy in winter. The master bedroom has a queen bed, private balcony, ensuite and walk in robe. The second bedroom has a double bed, and the most delightful winter morning sunlight steaming in the windows. Upstairs you will find a large, spacious loft room that is currently set up as an office: desk, chair, and comfortable double sofa bed. It is perfect for morning yoga, a focused work session The loft room has a half wall on one side, which means it is sonically open to the kitchen. This makes it brighter and breezier, but please note it is not very sound proof. (100% visually private but sound drifts up from the living spaces downstairs). The main bathroom has a large shower and a big double spa bath. A large wrap around deck with various seating options allows you to enjoy the sunset with a glass of champagne with your loved ones. Please note that this is a bush property - visits from birds, goannas and snakes are a regular occurrence! It is one of the highlights of the place and also requires care and understanding from the human guests on the land. There is a placid yellow-belly black on the property that keeps the browns away, but as always, be bush smart and stay still and calm if you get a visit from any animal friends. There are no pets on the property, but that doesn't mean you can't bring yours!
Our stay at Uki was beyond what we could have imagined. Thank you to steph for her beautiful house and property. The views arw imaculate. If you enjoy exploring nature. You have the whole backyard property to consistently checkout with wildlife. We miss it already. Thank you for an unforgettable holiday.
Stunning views from the entire house with plenty of windows to take it all in. Super secluded and private. There was a cot in one of the rooms too which was useful for our toddler. The bathroom shower has toxic mould though. The living room furniture is also quite strange, two one seater sofas and a very small two seater sofa.
Amazing view! Such a comfortable house with a welcome vibe. I think this must be the best view in Uki. Stephanie was very friendly and helpful.
A gorgeous spot with great views over the mountains. We loved being able to have the dogs with us though I wouldn’t bring a dog that doesn’t have great recall as the area isn’t fenced and we saw a lovely goanna that luckily our dogs were happy to ignore. The facilities are good and we were able to cook most meals without issue. Really comfortable beds and lots of outdoor furniture for activities. All in all a lovely trip.
Uki is a 30 minute stroll away or a 2 minute car trip- this quirky little town has the best coffee and the best pies in the area. The coffee comes from the post office (!?!) and the pies from Uki pies. There is also a great pub with meals, a quality and reasonably priced grocery store, some cute local boutiques and plenty of good vibes. Saturday morning has a small farmers market and one Sunday per month has a craft market with music. There is also Friday morning ecstatic dance in the church if you want to move your body.
You will be perfectly situated in the centre of the Northern Rivers region to explore all it has to offer: 40 min from Gold Coast airport, 40 mins from Mullumbimby, 30 min to Blues Fest site, 50 mins from Byron Bay, 30 mins from Nimbin, 10 mins from Murwillumbah, 20 mins to Cabarita beach, or 30 mins from Brunswick Heads beach. 20 mins to the spectacular Clarrie Hall Dam.
There is no public transport or Uber. Cars are a must unfortunately.
