This place is just what my husband and I needed ( 2 pups as well)! Property, just breathtaking, with a wonderful host! It was our first time to Nova Scotia and we wanted a quiet secluded place and also go on adventures. This place covered that amd more! Host did an exceptional job taking the great "bones "of this house and maintaining the structure and integrity of its rich history and culture. We took a day to travel to Peggys Cove and Halifax and then took a day traveling up to Cape Breton. It was alot of traveling but worth all yhe scenery and adventure. We were blessed with great weather and mostly sunny days, waking up to beach front seaand sunshine with all the sounds of the variety of birds was just like a dream. We took time to explore the property including a canoe ride and shore beach combing for treasures wenttoo fast and wanted a day to just chill at this gorgeous property to soak it all in. Honestly my favorite moment was soaking in all those stars at night! ThanksBen

Pros: - loved the nice and new cooking appliances - loved the selection of spices for cooking - loved the view, privacy and grounds, and lack of wild animals - loved that there wasn't direct sun into the home - the living room is very cozy, love that there's a gas fireplace and the recliner is comfy - wish we had time to use the fire pit and brand new webber grill - Ben is really responsive - there's everything you'd need for a long term stay - had a lot of nostalgia looking at the dvd collection. even watched an episode of gargoyles - would love to return! Things to note: - The stairs are steep and a little slippery. my old dog wasn't able to make it upstairs - the kitchen sinks are very small so washing dishes becomes a wet mess that you have to constantly wipe - the house is smaller than it appears in the photos - there isn't consistent or strong signal, which we liked, but might be an issue for longer stays

Ben is an extraordinary host! He is welcoming, friendly, offers suggestions, and ensures guests are comfortable. He also offers helpful tips on the area and checks in to make sure everything is running smoothly. I can't say enough about the beautiful, private location. It is on a peninsula so you have views of the ocean anywhere in the home. The home has modern conveniences along with historic charm. One can hear the ocean while you sleep along with beautiful starry nights. I extended my stay several times as it is truly an amazing place along with a host who cares about the guests experience! I highly recommend this Airbnb!

I rented Ben's home and was so impressed I extended by stay. Ben takes being a host to the next level. He communicates immediately, ensures you know of weather updates, gives valuable local information, makes sure everything is in working order, and takes pride in his home. The home with its stunning ocean views are private, peaceful, and is a retreat from the rest of the world. The local people are friendly and ensure you have any supplies you might need for one's vacation. Thank you, Ben, for renting out your lovely home.

Our stay at Ben’s house in Goldboro was excellent. The house was easy to find, despite being remote. It had lots of character but was also modern and clean. There was a big welcome basket of yummy goodies. There is no WIFI at the house, and cell service was not readily available. It is a good idea to download some movies, music and shows if you visit. But we were so happy to just be in nature. We barely saw another soul near the house. The landscape was beautiful, with coastline all around. We found quartz rocks, sea glass and many beautiful shells just outside of our door. Ben suggested visiting Tar bay beach and it was a gorgeous piece of coastline. There was a local seaside cemetery that was really interesting to explore. The best part of the trip was that our dogs were able to stay with us at Ben’s place!! They LOVED exploring the coast and running free. We will always remember our peaceful, quiet week staying at Ben’s beautiful cottage in Nova Scotia.
