The Folly is a must-visit if you're visiting the Lake District. The accommodation is spacious, pristine, and in a great location (only 15-20 min drive to Lake Windermere). The Folly itself (raised viewpoint pictured) exceeded my already high expectations, offering exceptional 360 views of rivers, hills and fields - perfect for sunrise/sunset. Pamela and Clive were excellent hosts. Their attention to detail elevates The Folly even more (bath robes, heating on on entry, electric blanket, charming decor, etc.). I couldn't have asked for anything more, and wouldn't have changed anything about our stay, it was perfect. If we do return to The Lakes, which is ever likely, we'll be returning to The Folly.

Couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful place to stay for a long weekend away. Pamela was an attentive host from the moment I booked online, once we arrived she settled us in with a walk around the place; as well as giving us plenty of amazing recommendations (sorry we only managed to tick off a few!) for the surrounding area. Would love to return come the summer, to hopefully have a little swim in the river. Thank you Pamela for a wonderful stay!

The Folly is a perfect little getaway! We stayed for two nights and it was so lovely, peaceful and cosy! Pamela met us on arrival and was so welcoming. The apartment has all you need and the views in the morning are just stunning. I would definitely come and stay again. Thank you so much! X

Where to start the host met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the place and made us feel like nothing was a problem and even included some complimentary brownies.The hosts replied very fast and gave very detailed instructions on how to get there and also all the local shops and things to do in the area. The location and surrounding area are beautiful and scenic with the watch tower being a perfect place to have a morning coffee watching the sunrise. It is a perfect location if you want a nice peaceful break away from city life and go back to basics. The place had everything you need fridge, hob, oven with everything you need to cook. It has a very warm cozy feel to the place I will definitely be going back after the new year would recommend anyone that loves the peaceful life away from the hustle of city life with beautiful walks and rest of the lakes being a short drive away.
