Stunning views. Even though you’re in the bottom floor of the house it’s very quiet and private. Roomy enough for lots of suitcases. About 5 manageable stairs and a good hand rail if you have mobility concerns. Handy basic supplies in the kitchen cupboard and laundry. Comfy sofas and bed. I can see why a lot of other reviewers go back again and again.

This is our 4th time staying with Cathy. There are a lot of nice places to stay on the Kapiti coast but we just keep coming back for the view! We tend to stay for more than a week and the functional kitchen and laundry plus the comfy king bed make this very comfortable for a longer stay. I love that you can access the bush straight over the back fence and then walk to the Hemi Matenga track. Cathy has always been very friendly and easy to work with.

This is our third time staying here. The location is beautiful with sweeping views up and down the coast. When conditions are right you can see Ruapehu and even the crown of Taranaki peeping over the curve of the horizon. I really enjoyed being able to get on the Hemi Matenga track right over the back fence and we made the most of the opportunity. I would definitely stay here again when I am in Waekanae visiting family.

We took Cathy by surprise as we booked in the afternoon of the night we wanted to stay and this is not her normal policy. Somehow we lucked out and got through and had a beautiful relaxing stay. Nice and cosy and great having access to full cooking facilities. Perfect weather and perfect view which has stuck with me and given my mind a rest. Thanks Cathy for your responsiveness at such short notice and for providing herbs and spices etc. Very cosy for winter too but would love to see the place in summer and enjoy the sun on the beautiful deck.
