Lastovo itself lays across a series of steep banks over a natural amphitheatre which overlooks fertile field land which faces away from the sea. This makes it quite different from many of its island neighbours, who make the sea the central point. Lastovo is a forested island – about 60% of it is covered. For wildlife lovers, you may see nests of falcons and hawks who patrol the area seeking food. If you want to snorkel, this is a great place to do so. This is one of the best spots for underwater sight-seeing. You might observe lobsters, crayfish, octopus, John Dory and Groupers. Now on to Mljet, truly a fantastic paradise.
