Take a break and unwind at Kevin's Cottage, a peaceful oasis, in an unspoiled, secluded location, a mere five minute walk from Ring Strand and the nearby bird sanctuary of the River Womanagh estuary. A short distance from the breath-taking Knockadoon Cliff Walk and Pier, the cottage is an ideal base for walkers, sea-swimmers and nature-lovers alike. For those who just wish to switch off and relax, the tranquil setting of this charming rural cottage makes for the perfect retreat from busy life. A cosy two bedroom cottage with a large garden, located down a quite country lane, with surrounding views of the sea and lush green fields. The cottage has two spacious bedrooms, both with King Size beds - an additional single bed is available upon request to accomodate a fifth guest at a supplementary cost. The kitchen, dining and living room area is open plan but maintains a very traditional, homely feel, a style which is carried throughout the cottage. There is a good sized bathroom with shower, toilet and wash-hand basin and a small utility with washing machine and freezer. A quite, secluded little hideaway with a rural, rustic charm and all the creature comforts.

We could not have asked for a better welcome to Ireland. Aisling thought of everything including fresh baked scones, cream, and jam for our morning along with fruit and snacks. The cottage is situated off the main road down a single lane path which was a bit intimidating as a tourist used to city streets but it all turned out just fine. There is ample parking at the cottage. Though neither of us need accommodations for a physical disability, it appears the home would accommodate as the shower is large with no threshold. The walk to the beach is quick and was comfortable as we had sun the whole time we stayed so very little mud by the time we made it. Aisling was responsive to all our questions and even offered extra suggestions. We would absolutely stay here again and truthfully had a hard time saying goodbye to the cottage.

We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing country cottage. It was located in the serene Irish countryside within walking distance of a beautiful beach with fantastic beach combing. The cottage itself was so lovely and charming, it had all the amenities and was very comfortable. Aisling was a fantastic host, she left fresh baked biscuits and homemade jam in addition to many other pantry staples upon our arrival. She also had a comprehensive guide to the area which we used to plan many of our daily activities. This was one our favorite accommodations during our stay in Ireland and we would absolutely stay here again and recommend to everyone.

Kevin's cottage is a Gem but Aisling is the star. We have been very lucky to meet some great hosts on our Airbnb travels and Aisling is definitely up there with the best. We arrived late to the cottage on a dark rainy night. To our delight Aisling had lit the wood stove and left us fresh scones. During our stay Aisling was within reach while always respecting our privacy. The cottage is cozy and creatively decorated. Aisling has a vintage eye and it shows throughout the decor. At night it was peaceful, the beds were comfy and we slept well. Minutes walk from the cottage is a nice secluded beach. Within easy driving distances are great restaurants, beaches and sight seeing. Our favourite eating spot was the Hunted Hog in Castlemartyr. A stunning swimming spot was the Whitebay beach near Roches point. We will definitely return to Kevin's cottage in the near future

Kevin's Cottage is situated in a very tranquil, unspoilt location, close to Ring Strand and the estuary of the Womanagh River, which is listed as a Special Protection Area under the EU Habitats Directive. Located off the beaten track, there is very little passing traffic making it the perfect spot to just switch off, listen to the birdsong and get close to nature.

Located down a very quite boreen with a number of coastal walking trails in the vicinity, Kevin's Cottage is a great choice for recreational walkers and those who enjoy the outdoors. However, given its secluded location and lack of public transport in the immediate area, a car would be essential for getting around. The nearby village of Ballymacoda is less than 3kms from the cottage and has a well-stocked mini-market and filling station as well as a traditional, cosy pub. The neighbouring towns of Midleton and Youghal are roughly a 20min drive from the cottage and both offer a great choice of pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and other facilities, not to mention an abundance of cultural attractions. The cottage is approximately 45mins from Cork City and Airport. Situated close to the Cork-Waterford border, the cottage is an ideal base for exploring Cork City, East Cork and West Waterford.
