Cortijo el Medico is the perfect retreat when you need to get away from everyday hustle and simply relax. Here you´ll have a room with two single beds and beautiful mountain views. You share the spacious facilities of the villa with up to eight other people. The bathroom is shared with the other bedroom upstairs (max two persons). The vineyard is situated "on top of the world", at 1050 meters above sea level. Surrounded by vines, almond and olive trees. 40 minutes drive to the beach. Before you continue: The farm is situated in the mountains, and to get here, when turning off from the main road, you can choose between taking a steep gravel road for 1,5 km or a longer scenic road, also gravel, for 4,6 km. These are typical farm roads for the Alpujarra area, do not expect the roads to be like in the city (you get more info in our welcome mail). Also: You are likely to encounter bugs and lizards. We are off grid and DO NOT have air condition (but we do have powerful fans in all rooms). The closest shop is 15 minutes drive from the farm. Ok with that? Then let me tell you more about our place: Close to everything the amazing mountain region of Alpujarra has to offer: Charming Moorish villages, stunning hiking- cycling and even ridingtracks, and lovely local food and wine. The villa is approximately 340 square meters. On the ground floor, you´ll find the main entrance to a big hall/lounge with billiard table and darts. In the corner here is a sofa, where one person can sleep. The ground floor has two bedrooms and one bathroom, plus our small self-service shop, where you can buy basics like pasta, bread and toothpaste as well as wine from our bodega and farm produce. Upstairs, there is a big open kitchen/dining/living area, two bedrooms, one bathroom plus powder room. From the living area big doors take you out to the main terrace with pool and outdoor kitchen/barbecue. The pool can be used from June 1st to October (it is not heated). There is also a terrace outside the kitchen, as well as by the entrance downstairs. The villa is situated on 30 hectars of land, and you are free to go for a stroll through the vineyards, almond-, olive- and figtree orchards. We are off grid. All the energy comes from our solar panels. You´ll be staying at the main floor of our villa that you might share with max eight other guests.
