Cannot beat the location as this place is right in the heart of downtown Wellfleet. Grateful for Andrew & Eva's hospitality and their flexibility when severe weather changed my plans at the last minute.

The place was lovely. It is small but comfortable and as described. The location is fantastic! Walk to the harbor, town, Mac's Shack. The only limiting thing is the outside space. There is not a pretty place to sit, just a tiny funky patio. Although it is near the marsh you can't see it from outside the unit. It would be nice to have a prettier outside spot to sit with better furniture outside the unit. We had some very cloudy weather and living room is small. But it is a work in progress and clearly a great spot overall.
we love andrew and eva's place! we've been coming for 3 years now, and already can't wait for next summer! they are such lovely people, very responsive and helpful, and have a wonderful long history in this beautiful place. they are artistic and creative, and clearly love hosting. their home is in a fantastic location, easy to get to everything, but secluded enough that you feel private. lovely place, lovely hosts! thankyou for everything!

Wellfleet's Commercial Street meanders along Duck Creek and ends at the town pier. One of Wellfleet's older homes, Peake House was built by whale oil merchant Samuel Peake in 1825 on Duck Creek and is remarkably well-preserved. For decades a boarding house for Wellfleet locals and fishermen, Peake House has been progressively restored and carefully updated in recent years and now houses the art collection of Janet Doub Erickson, a New England graphic artist and author.
There is parking available for one vehicle with this apartment. Extra cars may find parking at the town pier a short walk from Peake House. Peake House is a five minute walk from the nearest Wellfleet bus stop, with direct bus service to Provincetown, Orleans, Hyannis on to New York, Providence, or Boston. Cyclists can arrive to Peake House by taking the Cape Cod Rail Trail to its Wellfleet terminus and biking via Commercial St, Wellfleet harbor turn off to Wellfleet center.

Our family has a long history with Wellfleet beginning with a pre-World War II bicycle ride our father took to Wellfleet from Hartford on his iron bicycle. Route Six was considerably more bucolic then. Our mother, some of whose works decorate the houses, began painting and sketching in Wellfleet over three quarters of a century ago. The founder of Blockhouse of Boston, mom exhibited work in Wellfleet's first art gallery, owned by Florence Rich, who lived here. Duck Creek has been part of our lives ever since. Our family lived full time in Wellfleet for decades. The property is comprised of a creekside cottage built by Florence and her husband and on Commercial Street by a former rooming house where generations of Wellfleetians have lived. The oyster shack now exhibited on Mayo Beach once belonged in our backyard on Duck Creek. Eva and Andrew recently inherited the property from our parents, and look forward to doing everything we can to make your stay on the Outer Cape enjoyable.
