Original stone Kerry cottage built in the mid 1880’s and still oozing with charm, while benefiting from every modern convenience. Log burning stove and oil fired central heating, comfortable beds and seating . Two bathrooms with powered showers. Only a stones throw from many great beaches and golf courses. Large safe garden for children and adults alike. Ideal base for day trips to Dingle, Killarney and it’s national parks and the Wild Atlantic Way. Complete detached cottage in a quiet rural setting. It’s our main home, when guests are not there, and you can expect it to be in top condition. Originally built in 1885 with local stones laid directly on the earth with no foundations . It had only two rooms, a kitchen and one bedroom with a loft over the open fire for the children to climb up a rough home made ladder to their sleeping area. No such luxuries as indoor plumbing with water having to be fetched from a well in the garden.

Johns cottage is one of the best Airbnb stays we’ve ever had. The cottage is beautiful, very well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay so comfortable. Excellent WiFi service, plenty of hot water lovely large shower , the peace and tranquility is simply beautiful. On a whole I couldn’t fault anything.
The cottage is located in a beautiful, peaceful location. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The local people were very friendly and courteous. Anne and John were excellent hosts. They were very friendly and flexible in accommodating our needs, even supplying us with basic groceries upon our arrival. Communication was easy as they responded very promptly and were always on hand to help or answer questions whenever necessary. The cottage was very homely and comfortable to stay in with the added luxury of a fireplace in the living room. It was nice to have the flexibility of adjusting the heating to suit our needs which was essential on very cold days. Overall, my family had an excellent stay in the cottage and we look forward to staying again in the future!
The cabin is cozy and welcoming, and we had a wonderful time exploring the area. John and Anne were very helpful and quick to respond - they made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We’d love to go back!
we and our kids had a lovely time, in a super cosy home, a short drive from beaches and othe amenities. hosts were really helpful! Jack , Jimmy built a small lego town for you and really wanted you to see it. thanks so much for sharing. the house was everything we look for in booking cosy cottages.
Merci à Anne et John pour leur accueil dans leur magnifique chalet en pierre. Le chalet est très bien équipé et très cosy. On s’y sent comme à la maison. Anne et John sont très gentils et nous on fournit des courses pour l’arrivée. Nous avons pu cueillir des pommes dans le verger. Beaucoup de lieus sympas à visiter dans les environs. Je recommande vivement leur chalet. Bonne continuation

Glenerdalive is a quiet country area but the village of Ballyduff is only four minutes drive away and has two supermarkets, a pharmacy, a church, a Co-Op store , a hardware shop and four pubs ( one, Lowes, with great food every day) it is close to the coast with excellent beaches like Ballybunion, Kilmore, Ballyheigue and Banna. If you’re into boating there are marinas in Fenit and Dingle. Fenit has a very safe public slipway.
You can use your car or bicycles to get around and with a whole new group of greenway walking/cycling routes in every part of the county recently opened to public access, you won’t lack for something healthy to do. If you get rain during your stay, it can happen, then you can choose between two large swimming pools, one in Tralee and the other is in nearby Ballybunion. There’s a multi screen cinema in Tralee and there are some wonderful local and county museums .
