This is our second stay at the Lone Star. It suits our needs. Excellent location, close to the slopes, drive or free shuttle stops in the lot, walkable or shuttle 1 mile to town center. The units are basic. The bed is comfortable and the linens, towels, are clean. There are minor incongruities, the waste basket under the sink is too small to put anything in, so you will walk outside to the big trash to throw out a spaghetti jar. There is a working gas grill outside and we were pleased to grill fish on it. There is a desk to eat on, or a small tray but the wicker couch is awkward and uncomfortable. There is a communal kitchen if you want to sit at a table. The young seasonal staff of Red Mountain stay here, too, they are generally quiet after 10 pm and a pleasure to visit with. Lone Star has its quirks, bathroom door opens to within a few inches of the bed, BUT the price is right and it is a charm I its own way. Reasonable laundry machines on site and a wax room.

Alfred and the owner were both amazing! It’s clear that they take great care and pride in the property and want to make the stay as comfortable and straight forward as possible. The unit was spotless and very well equipped and thought-out.

Awesome place for the money.Check in/out instructions were very detailed and easy to follow, location is 5 mins to Red Mountain or downtown Rossland. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside but inside is recently updated, very clean, with everything you need for a ski getaway. Also cannot beat the price! I hope it’s available for our next trip to Red Mountain

Great location, quick drive to Red Mountain. The suite was spotless, cozy and nicely updated. It was more spacious than expected, so all my road tripping luggage fit inside. Check-in was most stressful. 24 hrs before check-in I was sent the instructions which were missing the suite's access code. I immediately notified the host that the code was missing but did not get a response. Next day I arrived shortly after checkin time and my subsequent airbnb messages were unanswered. There was no one on premises, and further phone calls and emails were unanswered. Only after calling Air BNB, waiting 40min, did they get a hold of the host who then supplied me the access code. Despite arriving at the suite at 415pm, I did not get access until 545pm. I was worried I'd have no place to stay that night! Upsetting start. Host was accountable for errors on their end and made a concerted effort to rectify and make up for them, this was appreciated. Rest of the stay went well and without a hitch.
