Casa de Josh is our new addition on the Casa del Bambu rental property. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. The house offers A/C in the bedroom and living room/ kitchen area, fast Wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, and a beautiful outside patio with views onto the gardens. The Bambu neighborhood has a tranquil rural Costa Rican neighborhood charm, and it is just a 5-minute drive to Puerto Jimenez with restaurants, the beach, banks and all other amenities. The whole property is around 2800 square meters in total. There is another Airbnb rental home on the same property, but the house and patio are entirely private and out of view of Casa Josh. Also, my co-host Josh lives on the same grounds in another smaller Casita. His patio also points another direction, so you have your privacy. However, you might see Josh and my gardener around the grounds on occasion. There is lush gardens and some fruit trees on the entire grounds.

Janina's place is absolutely wonderful - a beautiful place to spend a few days. The house is clean, spacious, comfortable and very well appointed with a lovely garden - it is even better than the photos! Janina was a fantastic host and always very responsive. When there was a mix up with a tour booking she was really helpful in getting this sorted and made sure we had a memorable experience. Could not recommend more - stay here!

Janinas Unterkunft war eines dieser Apartments das man nie vergisst. Schon die Kommunikation vor der Buchung war überragend und auch danach und während unseres Aufenthaltes war Janina immer da. Das gleiche gilt für Josh. Supertyp und die Delfin Tour sollte auf jeden Fall zum Pflichtprogramm gehören. Das Apartment selber war einfach mega und die Terrasse ein Traum. Highlight waren 2 Ara Pärchen die uns besucht haben. Ich könnte noch viele weitere positive Details nennen. Wenn wir nochmal nach Puerto Jiminez reisen, werden wir sicher wieder bei Janina einchecken.
Die Unterkunft war einfach toll. Mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Super Kommunikation und flexibel bzgl. Check-In und Check-Out. Ein Aufenthalt bei Janina und Josh können wir wärmstens empfehlen!
Wir haben uns in der Casa de Josh einfach wie zu Hause gefühlt. Hier hat man einen wirklichen Eindruck, wie das local life in costa rica ist. Zudem wirklich die netteste Gastgeberin Janina, sie ist mega hilfsbereit und so herzlich. Wer die Halbinsel Osa besucht, sollte definitiv hier wohnen, um das wirkliche Leben in Costa Rica kennenlernen zu können.

Casa Josh de Bambu is located in a quiet rural neighborhood called "Bambu". Next to Casa Josh, there is another rental property of ours, called "Casa del Bambu". Both are entirely separate homes and have their privacy. You have your own garden, patio, and entrance gate at Casa Josh.
The street out front of the rental home is a dead-end road with a few more houses and families further down that same road. The neighborhood of Bambu is around a 5-minute drive (3 km) from Puerto Jimenez, where you can find restaurants, grocery stores, banks, the beach, and tour offices. In Bambu, there is also a small kiosk and supermarket, which is around 1 km from the rental property. We also offer express delivery service of cooked food, and groceries, for a small fee of $2.
Right around the corner, around a 5-minute walk, there is a primary and secondary forest with all 4 monkey species, sloth, coati, agouti, Tyra, pumas, ocelot, and more! The "Bambu hill" forest is connected to the world-famous Corcovado National Park, so all animals that are found there can also be found here. Often you can hear the howler monkeys from the distance on your front porch in the early mornings (howling over at the forest around 5 minutes walk away).
If you're into birding, there is ample opportunity to bird-watch. We have toucans, scarlet macaws, parrots, and hummingbirds right on our property, as well as Trogons, Red-capped Manakins, and Torquoise Mot Mot right around the corner in the forest.
Most comfortably you’d travel around Costa Rica and the Osa with your own rental car, but you can also entirely get around without it. We can help you set up an airport pick-up ($10 taxi ride) and we offer free banana cruiser bicycles for free. It’s easy to get around walking too or get taxis (we can help you order them).
From the rental property, you can easily get to the nearest primary forest (500 meters / 5 minutes walk), and in around 4 min drive / 10 minutes by bike/ 20 minutes walk you’re in the center of Puerto Jimenez and/or at the beach.
A Pulperia and supermarket (kiosk) is around 1 km from the house and a larger supermarket is around 3 km from Casa del Bambu.
Restaurants, cafes, and bars are all 3 km from the rental house, around 4 min by car/ 10 min bike/ 20 min walk to Puerto Jimenez center.
