Hanna was a fantastic host. She anticipated our needs and made arrangements to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. She communicated very effectively. She is an amazing person. We will stay with her again during our next visit to this area.

We spent a month in Silent Valley House and it was as being at home. Our room was clean, free of clutter but still very comfortable and cosy. That room has a very good location as you open the room door or the balcony door the air comes in easily and goes out through the window, so it never felt overly hot there (India, you know). Also the kitchen was at the same floor, so we could cook our own food, as the kitchen had all necessary equipment. Plus, Hanna serves divine lunch if ordered day before, and I have to say it is Divine.

I had a wonderful stay at Silent Valley. The location is perfect; it's a 5 minute walk to beach - but lodging itself is quiet and peaceful. The rooms have balconies, so you step out among the coconut trees and a refreshing breeze flows constantly. Building has a positive energy and a comfortable feel. Rooms are spacious with big windows and lots of sunlight. Beds (linens are awesome), bathrooms and furniture are good. Shared kitchen works well. Hanna, the manager, keeps the hotel clean and beautified with flowers, candles, incense and touches of positive energy. Unique to Silent Valley: you can get a truly ayurvedic meal. I've been all over Southern India and every proprietor (whether it's a restaurant, BHK or hotel) says they prepare ayurvedic meals. But none of the meals I ate were truly ayurvedic. Here, the meals are authentically ayurvedic: light oil, light spices, fresh, correct proportions with all 6 tastes. I'll return to Silent Valley every time I'm in Kovalam Beach.

We are SO glad we booked this place! The environment is incredibly serene, peaceful and airy, and the rooms look exactly like the pictures. The 'Art Room' is situated on the 3rd floor in a corner location with floor to ceiling windows that look directly out onto the thick jungle at treetop level. It really feels like you are living in harmony with nature here. There is a shared kitchen on the 3rd floor with fridge, stove, electric kettle, and all cooking utensils if you wish to make a meal. Only vegetarian food is allowed on the premises and also no alcohol. This was not an issue for us at all, but just something to note. Hanna is an outstanding host with a wealth of information about the area, and she always made us feel welcome. Sometimes we are hesitant to book accommodations with few to no reviews, but this one should definitely not be overlooked as it is truly a gem. We liked it so much we extended our stay for 2 weeks, and we would stay again in a heartbeat.
