We're a 2 min drive to Frankton or over the bridge to Claudelands Event Centre (Globox Arena). The Frankton Train Station is a 5 min drive away and the Hamilton Transport depot is an easy 650m walk.
The property was exactly as described. Private, very clean, easy to find, quiet with a responsive host with some treats thrown in. Loved it, was perfect for us, would definitely use again and recommend to friends.
Caitlyn and Steve’s place is stylish and comfortable. Very walkable to town and FMG Stadium for the rugby. Great amenities and warm and cosy. We would definitely stay again.
Excellent stay! Really appreciated the prompt communication. Will look forward to staying again in future!
Loved this place. So central and cozy home touches even though it was an apartment. Will stay here again
We love how handy our apartment is to everything, with great food and wine options so close by. You'll love having everything right on your doorstep!
We're a block over from the Hamilton Squash and Tennis Club, 450m to Waikato Stadium and Seddon Park.
There's 3 supermarkets on our block and another just an extra block over.
5 minutes across the bridge to Claudelands Arena (Globox Arena)
800m to Centre Place Shopping Mall and just another 200m from there to the main city restaurants, bars and nightlife.
We have some restaurant options closer to us and always easy for Uber Eats to deliver!
The Hamilton Transport Centre is just 650m away and if you are coming into town via the train, the Frankton Train Station is a 5 minute drive away.
Lime/Uber scooters and bikes are readily available around the neighbourhood, Public transport options are endless with the Frankton train station and the Hamilton Transport Centre just up the road. Uber and taxis are readily available around the city.
We offer 1 free park in our carpark and the street parking nearby is free, generally without time limits if you park on our street.
We're within walking distance to most the city has to offer!
Arriving and getting around:
There is a Flex-Bus (busit. co. nz /flex/ ) run by Hamilton's Busit that allows for flexible and affordable rides around the city, kind of like a large Uber Share. This is the only public transport option to and from Hamilton Airport, it is best to book in advance. Alternatively Uber and Taxis are easy to catch from the airport to the city, but do cost with pretty hefty fares.
Te Huia Train runs from Auckland to Hamilton and return, daily. This can be a great option as a bus from Auckland Airport takes you straight to one of the connecting stations in Auckland, where you can then catch the Te Huia to Hamilton. We are just a short drive from the Frankton Train Station, where you can easily catch an Uber or Taxi from. (I wouldn't recommend walking)
There are local car share options nearby using the Mevo car share service (look up mevo .co. nz ), this allows you to rent a car much like you would use a Lime Scooter, and has allocated parking in spots around the city. We are just a block over from the closest Mevo park. Lime Scooters and Bikes are available throughout the city.
We recommend downloading the relevant apps in advance if you want to use the Lime or Mevo services while here. (Lime also works through the Uber app) I have a Lime discount code for any new users: input the code RXQESFT for $5 credit for your first ride.
Budget Car Rentals are located at 4 Vialou Street (Location HL1 online) if you want to rent a car for a day or two while visiting. - I believe they are only open Monday - Friday but when booking online you should be able to find details on after hours drop off info.
If you drive an Electric Vehicle, the Countdown Supermarket across the road has EV charging but they're only 12kW units x2 and a 7kW AC charger. You would need the OpenLoop app to use the chargers.
There are quite a few other chargers around the city including Tesla Chargers, some cost, on the OpenLoop app. There are a couple of chargenet chargers in Hamilton. There are a number of Hikotron AC chargers around too but they're BYO cable. The Plugshare app is really good for locating EV chargers.
