Benedetta’s is a gorgeous villa off Via Peralta. It has a private gate and is exactly as pictured. Her husband was quick to respond and help us along the way; he welcomed us and showed us how things work and closed us out. The bed/baths were exactly as laid out and there is room to spread out. The views were spectacular and we rarely heard cars or neighbors. The wifi was very spotty unless in the center room. We were staying for a wedding at the Castello di Petrata and had to make that drive many times. Though close by, it is NOT walkable; I enjoy driving but that road is windy, dark and full of potholes; it is nerve racking and people fly down it. Make sure to bring your own soap and note that the physical location differed depending on the image, text or “copy address” selected, and further multiplied by apple maps vs. gmaps. A wonderful location for weddings at the Castello and do not plan on making multiple trips up and down.

I wrote a VERY informative piece - then found out I am limited to 1000 characters. What is this, (X)?? It was informative, and complimentary in most respects. Anyway, the hosts need to explain the layout of the 5 suites: 3 lower level (right 2 of which are attached, including largest); 1 middle level, with study/living/kitchen-dining areas; 1 upper level (nothing else.) All baths are nice, except King suite on lower right-older. They need to clean JUST the old kitchen better & refinish the sticky wooden dining table. Also, scrub the light switch covers (see King suite). They need to replace ALL trash/refuse containers. The pool is 1 meter throughout and not heated, but very clean and invigorating. The bushes around the living/walking areas need trimmed. Bedding and towels were impeccable. Never saw or talked or texted with "Benedetta," only Roberto, a very good man. Overall, a very cool place. Remote control entrance gate at road, 50 meters from house. "Try it. You'll Like it." Ciao.

We travelled to Casale Santa Margherita after staying near Rome & spent a week there with extended family. We were keen to find a large house with a pool as we know how warm August is in Italy! This is a beautiful, rustic house situated in a lovely quiet area only minutes from Assisi. Roberto was a wonderful host who was really helpful with local restaurant recommendations, a taxi service & even assisted with a mechanic when one of our cars broke down! He went over & above our expectations & was warm & friendly. Advice: The pool is perfect for kids 7 plus as it’s only around 125cm deep all the way along. It’s easier to walk into Assisi from a car park at the bottom of the hill, rather than navigating the country road on the way down. Finally, there are only three air conditioning units, so be prepared for the house not to be air conditioned throughout. There are fans but the kitchen is very hot. Saying that, the lower rooms are naturally cooler which compensates.
