We had a lovely quiet break here, beautiful home, kind hosts who are easy to communicate with. Would love to stay again some time!
We stayed here while our house was undergoing repairs and it was an amazing home away from home, especially for our two small children. There were lots of toys and books for a wide age range. We ended up not even unpacking the ones we brought. There weren't too many decorations or things that the kids could break, plenty of space for a travel crib, and curtains that made the rooms very dark for naps. The master bedroom being downstairs, right under the stairs, gave us peace of mind that we would hear our 4-year-old come down in the middle of the night. The kids loved having a large, fenced in yard with a playground. The hosts were super communicative and we really had a great time.
We loved our stay at the Gateway. It was perfect to find a place so ideally situated that would accommodate our dog and had a large enclosed yard for her to roam in. The setting was just wonderful and close to great hiking and biking trails. Issaquah is charming and not far from Seattle. The house is very comfortable and well appointed and hosts were super responsive to our needs. Definitely would recommend especially for outdoor enthusiasts!
A quiet small neighborhood that is a short walk to town and all tiger mountain hiking trails.
The Getaway is located just 1 mile South of Issaquah’s city center and less than 2 miles from I-90, Seattle’s east / west artery running from the mountains to the sea.
Typical drive time from Sea Tac airport is 25-40 minutes (traffic dependent) and an Uber/Lyft will run you $40-$60 each way (surge price dependent)
Hiking, biking and activities are totally doable without a car especially in the summer months.
The closest bus stop is appx 0.8 miles away and there is a transit center 2.5 miles away.
For hiking outside of Squak and Tiger Mtns, there are literally hundreds of hikable trails within a 40 minute drive of the Getaway.
Closest skiing is 40 min away (Snoqualmie Pass) with Crystal and Stevens running 2-2.5 hours away depending on traffic/weather.

Born and raised in the Seattle area. My wife, Kelsey, is from Montana. We live east of the city in the foothills with our chocolate lab, Whidbey, and now two young boys- Andy and Clay. We love to travel both domestically and internationally and love to check out adventurous non-toursity things on all of our trips. Very laid back, easy going and quiet.
