Amazing house. New and clean, safe upper scale neighborhood. It’s really tucked away in a great spot. It’s quiet and feels safe but is only a few min from the main Vancouver Island hwy. Very comfortable memory foam beds and pillows. We slept great. We stayed with our 3 year old daughter, my Mother and Grand Parents. My Grandparents stayed in the master bedroom which is an impressive size and layout. They were blown away. We stayed in a room with a king bed and a crib, our daughter was a little too big for the crib so she slept in the kind bed and I believe it’s a California king. Felt much bigger than the one we have at home. My grandmother forgot her watch, she’s had it for 40 years and it’s got a lot of sentimental value. I messaged the host and they immediately went and found the watch. They then shipped it back with registered mail and paid the postage. Wow wow wow… so impressed with this host. Highly recommend this place.

The place was nice, the beds were comfy. It is listed as an entire house, it is not. There is a suite in the basement for other renters. With respect to the downstairs tenants, there is a strict 8pm no noise policy or the authorities would have been called. Also the 5pm check-in is later than most check-in I’m used to. We had to pay $70 for to check in at 4pm.

Let me first tell you about the positive things I noticed about this place: Great surrounding(open view), newer building, clean amendities and spacious rooms with high ceiling! The dining table had enough seating for 10 people comfortably, kitchen is very spacious with updated appliances, clean bedrooms with large beds, and well-kept bathrooms with good lighting. Now, one negative thing to improve upon: TOO MANY WARNING SIGNS THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE! When the guests see signs everywhere saying things like "Do not touch the thermostat. If error message comes on, you will be charged $1000 as penalty!" or, "Do not leave a mess around BBQ, you'll pay $100 extra if you do not use foil" - this is not a friendly reminder but rather a threat - which makes you 'uncomfortable' while staying. "Do not make a noise from 8pm to 8am, the police will come!" is another one I found almost hilarious. (I think there was somebody (host?) staying in the basement, which I found somewhat 'uncomfortable')

The house is nice and exactly as the pictures look. Lots of bedrooms with nice beds. The neighborhood is nice and we used it as a hub to explore Victoria. As mentioned in the listing, the noise after 8pm could be a restriction if you plan to use the outside. The hosts were nice and very responsive. They even fixed a low battery of a smoke detector very fast. While everything was nice, the home feels a little weird once you see some of the “rules” they have written out over the home. All their “rules” also come with a threat of the host charging a $1K fee (not listed in the original listing). We saw threats of fees for leaving the grill dirty, or using an excessive amount of water / electricity. There was a fee they said if you use their AC system wrong. They have a big kitchen but hope you just do “light” cooking. None of the rules were a problem for us, but it just made us feel uneasy to use the nice amenities that were advertised. The listing should be more honest with rules.
