Our lovingly restored 1960’s train carriage is located within our picturesque 270 acre family farm in Oakview, just 80 minutes from Noosa and 15 minutes from Kilkivan. The Oakview carriage is the perfect stay for those craving a unique escape into nature and a little touch of luxury. The carriage showcases a glimpse into the past with many of its original features in-tact, whilst boasting modern ammenities to ensure your comfort and convenience. Enjoy French flax bed linens, cosy plush robes for after a dip in the hot tub, lux shower toiletries & essential oils with diffuser for ultimate relaxation, high speed Starlink Wi-Fi, dual reverse cycle air-conditioning, 2 TVs, Netflix and a unique Wood-Fired Hot Tub providing a rustic and relaxing ambience. Our hot tub is located on the veranda with magical nature views, she is truely something special! Listen to the sounds of cicada’s & whip-birds while you unwind in the warmth of the tub. We happily provide our guests with all pre-chopped firewood for both the hot tub and the fire pit. Much thought has gone into styling our carriage, so you will find a special curated collection of vintage treasures and unique items throughout. The carriage is located on a wildlife refuge within our peaceful family farm and as our guest you will have access to just over 10 acres of your own private area in front of the carriage including a pretty walking trail down to the creek and expansive riparian zone, which you will have all to yourself. Explore, swim or kayak, the choice is all yours. As you drive into our property you will see a few of our buildings, and our working shed, but once you are over at the carriage it is very private. There is a myriad of birdlife and wildlife and stunning native flora everywhere you look - Switch off and enjoy the company of our friendly mob of female eastern grey kangaroos that often rest on the grass outside the carriage. The property is also home to many adorable red-neck and whiptail wallabies, pademelons, echidnas, koalas, sugar gliders and a thriving bird population that includes the majestic Australian king parrots and the mysterious powerful owl. You may even catch a glimpse of one of our resident platypus in the creek or wild deer during your drive in. The cosy kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need, including pots and pans, a knife set, convection oven with two-burner stove top, sandwich press, SMEG bar fridge, toaster, kettle, an outdoor dometic fridge/freezer and picnic amenities. Our wee pantry is stocked with essential items such as salt, pepper, herbs, spices, cooking oil, tea & coffee, full cream milk and Australian-made Beerenberg jams. There is a small Weber BBQ by the verandah and we also offer a cast iron cooking set should you wish to enjoy a camp style feast over the fire pit.
