Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned Grade II* listed coal-fired power station, located on the south bank of the River Thames.
A fast-transforming district, Nine Elms is home to the regenerated Battersea Power Station, which offers chic riverside dining and bars, plus pop-up food markets. A wide promenade traces the Thames river embankment, and stalls at the wholesale New Covent Garden Market are piled high with fruit, vegetables, and flowers. The area’s modern developments include stylish apartment buildings and the U.S. Embassy.

There are great underground, bus and train links in Lambeth, making it easy to get around.

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is a river transportation service that operates in London. The RB1 stops at piers between Battersea Power Station or London Eye (Waterloo) and Barking Riverside allowing you to easily travel across London and enjoy the capital’s landmarks such as Westminster, The London Eye, Tower or Greenwich.
Born in South Lambeth, the area is safe and private, in general its a mix of normal peoples houses and very expensive private houses. There are loads of Portuguese shops, bars and restaurants on the main road and it'll take you about 5 minutes to walk to Vauxhall bus, tube and train station to take you anywhere in London and beyond.
There are also buses you can catch in South Lambeth Road that'll take you to into the tourist sites very quickly. You can walk to the river in about 10 minutes and from there it's about a 20 minute walk to Parliament Square and Big Ben. It's as safe as any London location and very central. There is a small park around the corner, some nice local pubs and a large supermarket about a 5 minute walk away.
You will soon discover that instead of being too 'out-of-the-way', it'll actually be far more central and travel-easy than many places in London that claim to be and you certainly won't need a car.
