Nestled between operation farms, you may see horses on the street. The Cochella Valley Preserve is within walking distance if you are up for a hike. My neighbor runs the covered wagon tours through the canyons just a couple of miles away and I’m happy to set you up with them for a ride along. This is the desert, so one must be in aware of the possibility of snakes, spiders, scorpions, and coyotes when enjoying the outdoors. But with that comes the chance to take glimpse at an echo of what the Wild West once was. Don’t be afraid, you will be fine as long as you stay aware.
You also have a world class casino, Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa, just 15 minutes away towards Palm Springs (25 minutes away). It has an enormous 360 degree viewing sports bar if you don’t want to miss the game while you are in town. The town of Palm Desert is about a 15 minute drive as well. So unlike Joshua Tree (45 minutes away), you have happening nightlife in the close vicinity.
If you are looking to just stay in the seclusion of the 5 acres homestead plot and enjoy a fire to light up the evening with friends, the peace and quiet combined with an intense stargazing session this location offers will elevate your senses like nothing local clubs, restaurant or lounge can do. I also have a quality Celestar telescope to introduce yourself to the rings of Saturn. But in all honesty, the lack of light pollution here makes it possible to get a view of the night skies one doesn’t get anywhere near the cities or suburbs.
For the outdoorsman/woman, a mountainside firing range the locals and nearby LEOs frequent opens up to an off roaders dream by traversing the unpaved pass through the Little Bernadito Mountains to a secrete back entryway to the Joshua Tree National Park (no charge cause it’s the secrete back entrance🤷‍♂️) Just ask and your local tour guide, me, can point you right to it🤠
You basically have the perfect mix of rural desert seclusion in just on the outskirts of city access-truly the best of both worlds.
And don’t worry, there’s an In-and-Out burger right next to the casino🥳

Probably best to have a car or motorcycle to travel off the premises unless you wanted to walk to the Cochella Valley Preserve. It’s even better if you have a 4x4 (with clearance) because I can show you how to get to Joshua tree the back way on a unpaved mountain pass through the Little Bernardino mountains only a few locals around here know about. This is a bucket list kind of off road adventure.
