We returned for a second stay because we loved the uniqueness of this location. It's a great base for those who love to hike and be surrounded by nature. It's a bit isolated and you have to reach it via the Austrian road. But there are still lots of activities in the region to keep the kids occupied in the Saalachtal. The layout of the room "Hirschbichl" for our family of four is really comfortable (5 and 2 year old with baby bed). We hope you return again soon!

If you are looking for a unique and peaceful place to stay in the mountains, this is a great option. You will stay at the border between Germany and Austria which is a great base for multiple hiking routes and alms in all directions. Our room "Hirschbichl" was very spacious suitable for us and two kids, ages 4 and 1. We brought a baby bed which fit easily into the bedroom. It was also easy to have a toddler in the space as it isn't cluttered with unnecessary stuff. Outside, there is a shared green space with a small play structure to let them run around and a terrace to sit. Make sure to do any necessary internet activities in advance as the location doesn't have wifi or mobile data. Also, the location is only accessible on the German side by bus or a longer day hike so plan for a car ride up on the Austrian side. Hit up the grocery store in the valley before driving up. We would like to stay here again as it fit the description of our ideal outdoor vacation as a family.

The right place for hiking and mountain biking trips. The apartment had everything we needed. Thanks to its location, a wonderful view of thousands of stars in the sky. Great rest and mental reset from phone coverage and wifi. Hosts helpful and polite. Access in accordance with the instructions of the hosts.

appartement op een prachtige plek. de weg ernaar toe vonden we wel wat spannend. maar we zijn ook niet gewend om door de bergen te rijden. we werden heel erg gastvrij ontvangen! hebben heerlijk geslapen, wat een rust! we komen heel graag nog eens terug.
