Chill out amongst the 12 acres of wooded sand dunes, or take a 10-minute hike to the beach, soaking in the Pure Michigan coast. You’ll hear the waves crashing on the beach and the wind rustling in the 100-year-old trees as you observe one of the most highly sought-after landscapes on earth. The level of seclusion is almost like camping—except you also have the comfort and convenience of an immaculate and expertly furnished home! If you can peel yourself away from the beach and rolling dunes, you’ll find a modern kitchen, an open entertaining space with a fireplace, and four luxurious bedrooms. Malaya Dunes is uniquely suited for nature lovers with huge picture windows providing views of the pristine grounds. Pull your car into the breezeway-attached garage and plug in your electric vehicle. Take advantage of the home office for privacy and quiet. Then, take a book out into the shade of the covered outdoor seating, relax in the 7-person hot tub, and end your day chatting around the firepit. Art coast properties exceeded our expectations for our wedding/honeymoon experience. When the internet went out, they attempted to fix it multiple times and were very polite and respectful to us during our stay by asking when and if they could come. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and place to share these wonderful memories.
This is a wonderful house for a getaway to Lake Michigan. A short walk to the sand dunes, or a short drive to Holland and Saugatuck for restaurants and shopping.
A small group of friends and I planned a long weekend getaway here. The property was secluded and serene. We could see our nearest neighbor, although once the trees regrow their leaves in spring that may no longer be the case. The property lended itself well to game nights, cooking meals together, and just enjoying each other’s company. We were initially very excited to be only a “10-minute hike through the dunes to the beach”. On arrival, we realized it meant walking down the side of the road then scaling a sand dune. The walk (from the front door to waterfront) took us longer than 10 minutes, although from the end of the driveway to beginning of the sand dune was likely closer to 5 minutes. We decided to only go to the beach once. The Malaya Dunes staff were responsive when we asked questions through the app and enquired about recycling, and overall provided us with a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
Tastefully simple. Beautiful, comfortable and private. Lots to do around the property and equally close to both Holland Saugatuck. Loved our stay there!

Malaya Dunes is located in the scenic and charming Laketown Township. This area is in the heart of the fruit belt of Michigan and holds the third highest spot for agriculture production in the entire country! Bring those apple and berry pickin' fingers — you're going to need ‘em! Also, if you didn't already know, Michigan is a HUGE beer-loving state. There are over 10 breweries in the surrounding areas and our sandy soil and close proximity to the lake makes for the perfect hops-growing conditions!
A short drive will take you to the creative and cultural centers of Saugatuck & Douglas. Honored by Midwest Living Magazine as 2020’s Best Beach Town, Saugatuck satisfies everyone from young families to refined art collectors to pleasure-seeking party groups. There truly is something for everyone in this lively and thriving hub. Nearby sister city Douglas offers more of the same fun for all ages with a slightly more laid-back vibe.
Did I mention the beaches?!? Breathtaking Oval Beach is only a short drive away and Conde Nast Traveler has ranked it in the top 25 best shorelines in the world! That's right, the WORLD! Get active at nearby state parks, take advantage of gorgeous hiking and biking trails and let adventurers try their luck climbing and running down majestic forested dunes lining the shoreline.
Incredible Pure Michigan experiences abound, whether you’re a water sport enthusiast, a foodie, or someone seeking a quiet retreat. Pack a swimsuit, a good book, and a healthy appetite for fun—and fine food, of course—and we’ll see you when you get here.
