This was a beautiful location and peaceful. The swing was so nice to have for the kids…I couldn’t get my daughter off it. it was a little deceiving as I thought they had a small beach access on property but it was the neighbors so be aware of that. They still have a small dock to get the paddle boat in the water but did not get a chance to try. However, I would I definitely book again….unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the full week with our guests from Cali as my mother inlaw passed away and we had to leave only after the first night of check in. it was a perfect location though and convenient to major grocery stores and restaurants. definitely a great place to enjoy a Michigan summer night. thank you. ❤️
Overall, the house and location were great. We arrived on a Friday night, and a pretty intense storm was happening, so we weren't able to utilize the firepit outside. We searched the house for any type of board games or a deck of cards or anything to keep ourselves entertained but could not find anything. I tried to reach out to the local contact but never heard anything back. We managed to download a game on our phones that a group could play. Another thing that was interesting was the strong smell of dog that permeated the home. However, we lit candles throughout, and it took the scent away.
This home was exactly as we had expected. There really is no dock that is currently usable. We were able to use the paddle boat and canoe but had to brave the gross black mud to get in the Lake. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the things u could think of. Even a vase for flowers. There is a crack in the toilet seat which was not so fun but we just used the other bathrooms. The beds were clean but there are not traditional mattresses and box springs; rather two layers of thick foam mattresses. They were okay for the few days we were there. We really loved the view and the privacy we had. We were close enough to go to the Henry Ford Museum and the NASCAR race. Grocery store was just a five minute drive down the road. Overall it’s a great place. With a few investments on behalf of the owner it would be an amazing spot! (There are two holes in the yard right by the beautiful concrete pad that need filled before someone gets hurt).
This home is located on a beautiful lake and has 3 good size rooms with 2 full bathrooms. The space was really good for our family to have enough room and also be comfortable. The swing and backyard were really great for additional activities for the family.
Overall good value for the $. Pluses: • Tonya was incredibly responsive and helpful from before I booked until after check out. • Great spot on a very peaceful, pretty lake. • House is well equipped in most areas, especially kitchen. • Feels like you are in the country, but plenty of stores & restaurants just a few minutes away. Things to be aware of: • Listing claims there's a dock but there's not. • There's no real beach and the shoreline is mucky & weed-clogged out to ~20 feet. To swim you have to take a boat to the public diving platform (see below). • The boats were full of putrid water; had to empty and clean them w/cleaner we bought. No lifejackets, only floating seat cushions. • Not homeowner’s fault but important: swimming platform has large spike in the middle wrapped in a filthy towel. My niece injured her foot on it. I hope the neighborhood assoc. does something about this before someone gets seriously hurt. • As others point out, living room smells strongly of dog.
