the house is roomy, quaint and cozy, and looks exactly like the photos. the host was responsive and accommodating. within 25 min drive of several excellent hikes. my concerns: house is unfortunately very dusty & there was pet hair on pillows and couches, and under furniture. likely lots of dust in the heat vents. I have a pretty bad dustmite allergy, so spent the entire vacation in a state of partial suffocation despite daily antihistamine intake. I imagine this might be less of a problem in the summer. the hot tub and the firepit are located on top of a hill and unprotected from the North, which is a problem in the winter in Michigan. We had to use the hot tub wearing hats, and even then it was too cold to use most nights. Finally, there were several signs posted on properties immediately adjacent to ours, threatening extreme violence to trespassers, which is the last thing Id want to see when I am vacationing somewhere with my children.

We had a great stay! We loved the the unique vibe of the property. We appreciated that the house had 4 bedrooms all with comfortable queen beds. It was a great place to relax and hang out with friends and family and easy to take a quick trip to the beaches or into town.

Our group of 5 guys on a fall golf trip had a great time at Erin's place. Check in was easy, the house was set up well, and the area was beautiful. The kitchen had what we needed, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space to relax and watch TV after a day on the courses. The record player was fun and we had a good time listening to some music (Beastie Boy's - Paul's Boutique in particular) that we hadn't heard in ages. One unexpected neat thing was the absolute darkness in the area at night. I am kind of a star / constellation geek and you could see so much on the clear nights. It was really cool and peaceful. For golfers, Oceana, Colonial, Hemlock, and Lakeside Links are all really easy to get to and had great conditions and prices in the fall. All in all, a great place to stay and a great time.

This is a charming home in a good location about halfway between Pentwater and Ludington. It was a bit misnamed as a "beach house" as the home neither has a view of the beach or is walkable to the beach. A short bike ride or drive, less than a mile down the road, however, brings you to the loveliest little uncrowded town beach across from a fantastic fish place (fried, smoked, and fresh). The home is more of a farm house, perched atop an apple orchard in a peaceful setting. It felt very homey with a record player and nice record collection to utilize, a shared library of books, and lots of spaces to spend time together. The road the house is on was pretty quiet and the yard offered a lot of privacy. There is plenty to do nearby -- from some of the best beaches on Lake Michigan, lots of other smaller inland lakes, the state park, and the roads are marked for biking. We lucked out with some great weather this weekend so we truly had an idyllic stay.
