Relax with family or friends at peaceful Casa Mia/Camino Alto. Casa Mia has 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, a lounge with sofa bed, 2.5 bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, AC and WiFi. Water for bathing and the pool comes from the natural Matute Spring.

Villa Camino Alto is available year-round for short-term or longer term rental and is recommended for the seasoned traveler who wants to enjoy the tranquility of this country paradise. The forested Matute Springs with howler monkeys and wonderful bird species and the Botanical Gardens are within a 20-30 minute hike from our doorstep. Some of the best birding and photography can be done from our high balconies that have a 160 degree view and from the yard.
The caretakers lives on the property and is responsible for security and property maintenance. During some months our family vacations in Casa Principal, the main house. Casa Mia Guest House is available for guests.
Villa Camino Alto is part of the private residential development of Torrecilla, with a board of property owners that looks after neighborhood matters like maintenance and landscaping of common areas, common spring-fed water supply, administration and security.
Guests will need to arrange for their own transportation. The hosts have recommended regional and local drivers that they use and will share these with guests. The neighborhood is walkable and bicycle friendly; beyond the neighborhood guests are advised to use a vehicle. The caretaker who lives on the property is available to run errands. The hosts may also recommend someone to prepare meals for a reasonable fee if desired.

Bill and Myriam share their time between Land O Lakes, Florida, Cartagena, Colombia and Raleigh, North Carollina. We are retired, Myriam from elementary teaching and Bill from not-for-profit leadership. Over the past 20-years we have developed Villa Camino Alto, our fenced-in property outside Cartagena which now features two separate residences (1,200 sq ft each), swimming pool, gazebo, private secure parking. What makes our homes here spectacular are the high terraces, views of Cartagena and the Caribbean, tropical fruit trees that provide daily fare, the many bird species that visit daily and the bright flowering gardens all year round. We have developed experience in the area and Cartagena which we enjoy sharing with guests along with local folklore.
