Hawkinge is a small village located in the district of Folkestone and Hythe. We're about 5 miles north of the town of Folkestone and about 10 miles east of the city of Canterbury.
It is surrounded by picturesque countryside, with the North Downs to the north and the Channel to the south. The village has a long history, dating back to Roman times, and has been an important military site since the early 20th century.
The Battle of Brittian Museum is in walking distance and well worth a visit. The White Horse Pub has a fantastic vibe and is about a 20 minutes walk.
The Harbour Arm is about an eight minute drive from us and is home to a variety of bars, restaurants, and independent food and drink vendors, offering a range of delicious cuisine and beverages with stunning sea views. From freshly caught fish and chips to craft beers and cocktails, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
In addition to its culinary offerings, the Harbour Arm is also a cultural hub, hosting a variety of events and activities throughout the year, including live music performances, art exhibitions, and outdoor cinema screenings. Visitors can also take in the breathtaking views of the coast and the iconic white cliffs of Dover.
Canterbury is a shorth drive away and at the heart of the city is the famous Canterbury Cathedral, which is one of the most significant and well-preserved examples of medieval Gothic architecture in Europe. The cathedral has been a site of Christian worship for over 1,400 years and is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the leader of the Church of England.
Dover Castle is a medieval fortress located a short drive away.. The castle is situated on a hill overlooking the town and the English Channel. The castle dates back to the 11th century and has been in use as a fortress for over 900 years. It has been modified and expanded many times over the centuries, with additions and renovations carried out by successive monarchs and military commanders and played a large part in the Second World War.

Free parking on site. We are only a 10 minute drive from lively Folkestone with a fantastic range of food, drink and live music venues as well as beautiful sandy and pebble beaches. There are plenty of taxis, although we recommend pre-booking at busy times. There are many lovely local walks too.
