I have found through hosting, older couples are not as comfortable in this habitat. When I say older I am referring to people over the age of 50. I have had single ladies and men stay, who are older and they love it... It seems like older couples are just a little tooo close!!! These people have visited 5 star hotels and resorts and seem to expect the same upon arrival. This is why I encourage solo travelers.... My younger visitors seem to adapt much easier and LOVE being here. We are in Old Florida, it is tropical and quiet. There will be some insects, lizards and maybe even a spider outside! The floors are older terrazzo that has been refinished. The kitchen is an enclosed summer kitchen. There is a solar fan and an outside a/c to use, if you are here during the summer months and the kitchen is too warm. I have tried to be straight forward explaining the space. NO surprises and nothing fancy! I have really enjoyed hosting all and hope to have the opportunity to do the same for you... The sleeping area is attached to the main house, yet totally Private....The whole property is surrounded by an 1 1/2 acres of tropical paradise. SURROUNDINGS: It is country type surroundings, yet less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean at Wabasso Beach and two walking blocks to the Indian River Lagoon. (Bikes are available) aso kayaks, you wil need an suv or truck! Lots to explore in the surrounding .....Sebastian, Wabasso and Vero Beach, Even if you choose to drive South to Hutchinson Island or Jupiter or North to Melbourne, Cocoa, Rockledge, Cape Canaveral, or even Orlando PRIVATE BEDROOM: 11'X15' which includes a full closet. The Bedroon offers a queen bed w/clean sheets and double pillows and coverlet. In the bedroom area there is a table for computer work . The tv in the bedroom area can be viewed from the kitchen also. PRIVATE BATH: It is a modern full bath, attached to the bedroom. Under the sink there is a blow dryer and first aide kit, . There are small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturizer. Clean towels, wash clothes and rugs, also beach towels are provided. Under the sink in the bathroom there are also cleaning supplies. PRIVATE KITCHEN The area is 11'X15' , ceiling height is 7' There is a sink w/ dish washing soap, strainer and towels. Hot and cold water for clean up in the kitchen area. All of the dishes and utensils are washed in the dishwasher between guests. A small full sized refrigerator, crock pot, microwave, toaster, coffee pot w/ starter coffee, blender, double cooktop, pots, pans, dish towels, dishsoap, glass and paper dishes. A table and chairs. This area is Rustic and built with pressure treated lumber 8 years ago. It is an enclosed outside summer kitchen....very quaint and comfortable. TV access is available from the bedroom ,if you choose watch TV while cooking or eating....in this area. CONSERVE ENERGY: Conserve energy, please turn off A/C, fans, inside lights, etc. prior to leaving. Leave on outside twinkle lights for reentering property in the evening. CLEANING: A broom, dust pan and swifter are located in the closet. Cleaning supplies are under the sink in the kitchen area, also extra rags and dog towels. I do not charge a cleaning fee and appreciate my guests helping keep the unit clean. In the wicker drawers are all sized bags. Also dish rags and towels. There is a 100 cleaning fee for long term guests 75 for 3 day guests . TRASH: Outside there is a Blue/ Recycle can and a Tan regular trash can, feel free to use them. Please bag up trash in large provided trash bags (in wicker drawers) to keep cans some what clean! OUTSIDE: The outside yard area is 20'X15' which has a park bench, in the storage area under the overhang there are 2 reclining chairs (feel free to stretch out in the yard), 2 bicycles, a cooler, 2 beach chairs, noodles and boogie boards for the ocean! There are holders for fishing poles and Surf board racks. There is a propane grill ( I charge $20.00 for the first 7 days of use) and a charcoal weber (no charge). PARKING: Parking on the Concrete Pad inside 1 1/2acre Privacy Fenced Property…There is also Plenty of parking available on the out side of the privacy fenced property ( the neighbor hood is quite safe), If you have an RV … Boat and Motorcycle Parking available inside privacy fence along with automobile of course ! NON SMOKING: This is a non smoking habitat.... No cigarettes, vapors cigs, cigars, pipes, pot, etc... If you feel a need to smoke please do so outside of the privacy fence.... extinguish and discard off the property. People, who do not smoke. smell any trace. For them and for me, I ask you to be courteous. PETS: I do allow pets...They must be flea free and up to date with vaccinations...40lbs or less…There is a non refundable pet deposit required Please do not allow your pet on the furniture. Also, there are clean up bags under the sink for your pups. I do spray after each guest stay, for bed bugs and fleas.... I love animals but do not want a pet locked in the space alone, it is not a kennel.... while you are either working or going to school, I will care for your pet during that time for a minimal fee. It's best for all involved. LAUNDRY: If staying for a month or longer, there is a washer and dryer. The Pelican Laundromat is 1/4 mile north on A1A. They offer a drop off service, if needed. CHECK IN: Check between 3 pm and 6 pm…if you need to come in earlier just call and I will do what I can to make it happen. CHECK OUT: Check out is 11 am both are flexible, depending on bookings.
