Unwind at this unique & tranquil gem in a hidden neighborhood looking over the Back River to Tybee. The beach is accessible by car, or kayak from our dock for the adventurous soul. With miles of marsh on one side, & the Back River flowing to the ocean on the other, enjoy sunrises & sunsets. Use the salty beach bikes, kayaks, canoe, jump off the dock, build a (responsible) fire in the pit, or relax on the patio. This cozy downstairs suite has its own entrance in a private home. Come be our guest. When I first entered this home and saw the front yard view of miles and miles of marsh and the back view of the river and out to the ocean, I knew that I had found IT. I promised that I would share this bit of heaven with friends, and I want to share with you as well. This is a small downstairs suite with big views in a quiet neighborhood. You will have the ground floor to yourself, but the outdoor areas are shared. You'll have a designated parking spot right in front of the dock. Below are the pros and cons. Let's start with the bad, but be sure to read the good. Some of the cons: 1. We are still working on areas of the outside. The price reflects this inconvenience. 2. There are a few glitches on the inside as well - the freezer has to be forced shut or it will pop open, and the refrigerator also has to be closed properly, although much more gently. 3. The washer is a European combo washer/dryer. It works differently than what we are used to, and takes longer to dry things. (Don't overstuff.) 4. The breaker box is in your suite, so from time to time, I may have to come down there and flip a breaker switch. I will always text or call first. 5. The air and heat is controlled from upstairs, but you will have fans and heaters. Let me know if I ever need to adjust it for you. I want you to be comfortable. 6. There is no TV, but there is wi-fi. 7. Always lock the outside trashcan, or a noisy messy raccoon will wake you up in the middle of the night while dining on our leftovers. 8. I have a dog who may bark from time to time. I will try to keep him quiet, but you will definitely hear him from time to time. 9. This is just a quirky thing - the entire house has ceiling speakers set to the stereo upstairs. Turn that round knob up if you like the music choice, and down if you don't. :) If you notice something that needs improvement, please let me know directly. I hope to be in this for the longterm, and I want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Some of the pros: This is a magical piece of the world on a peninsula with breathtaking views. In the front, we have a 180 degree view of a nearly limitless expanse of marsh, with the most remarkable sunsets ever. In the back, we have a dock, and if you get up early enough, beautiful sunrises as well. The back view is that of a deep river, which winds around the marsh. You can see where the beach begins, and past that, you can see the ocean. There are many layers of jaw dropping beauty. Study the tides, and you can easily paddle with the current to the beach by kayak or canoe on the outgoing tide, and paddle back home as the tide comes back in. Paradise awaits.
