Julio is very hospitable, warm, friendly and responsive host. In his profile photo, he seems a little strict but in reality he is very kind and friendly. He and his wife were very responsive and helped with recommendations for local visits. Julio's house was in great location and easy to find, beautiful and atmospheric and we were met by his assistant who spoke excellent english and provided us with detailed instructions and recommendations. For an additional fee we got a great breakfast on the terrace. Cutlery was clean, everything was tasty (especially bruschettas) and the nice lady made sure we had everything we needed. The room was clean, bright and spacious, with high ceilings and very atmospheric and cozy interior. It had a beautiful balcony overlooking the street and a nice multiple level terrace that provided a great view of the entire city. There always was hot water, and for a small fee there were additional convenience items available like beach towels and laundry.

Julio & his wife are so sweet & friendly. His home is full of antiquities, Cuban art, & relics from his profession as a pharmacist. The room we stayed in was my favorite room that we stayed in while in Cuba. I worked with Ydonel, a 3rd party agent, who helps them rent rooms on AirBNB. Ydonel is worth his weight in gold. He helped us arrange an experience to ride horses to visit a water fall where we could swim in the fresh water & then eat lunch. He arranged a collective taxi from Trinidad to Varadero for us. Ydonel recommended restaurants. He was checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. He went above and beyond arranging a delivery in Varadero of some documents I had left behind in Trinidad. Ydonel is trustworthy, reliable, friendly, knowledgable, & kind. The two women who work in the house preparing our breakfasts, Adelina & Yamisleidi, added some great conversation & smiles each morning. They left us some extra mango & watermelon, to have as an afternooon snack. <3 <3
