**AVAILABLE MAY 1, 2024 ** A mid-century classic perched on a beautiful ridge overlooking Glen Lake, right in the middle of all that Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Glen Arbor area have to offer. Surrounded by trees, with a view of the lake beyond, this secluded hide-away is everything you could hope for in all 4 seasons. If you have a cool dog, bring it along. The Place - This home is 2,700 square feet. The newly renovated main living area has loads of natural light and a wood burning fireplace, large viewing windows, and a furniture set-up that makes for great socializing and relaxing chill time. The dining area is positioned next to a large window as is the height adjustable work station. The large smart TV makes for great movie viewing. The main bedroom has a sunrise facing slider and a new luxury king bed. The closet has vintage wallpaper (that is a sure-fire crowd pleaser). The second bedroom has a new luxury queen bed. 2 Full bathrooms on the main level. One with shower and tub, one with walk-in shower. On the lower level, (still a work in progress this summer) there is a half bath and two trundle beds. Also on the lower level is a ping pong table and a TV area for gaming, and a game table for 4. There is a garage available for storing your bike, kayak, paddleboard or any other toys you bring along. There is also paved parking for a boat trailer with easy access. The deck is set up for viewing the scenery along with outdoor dining for six. An elevated outdoor firepit gives the feeling of being on top of the world. An additional patio offers another chilling and grilling spot. We have a propane grill available for you to use! Please note this home does not have direct lake access, but it is just steps away from a DNR boat ramp.
Katy's place is one of the most relaxing places we have stayed. Keep in mind it is a steep driveway to get to that peaceful, private setting but Katy does forewarn about that. We viewed a beautiful sunset over Glen Lake through the one of the main windows in the house and were surrounded by beautiful fall color in the trees. Beds were super comfortable. Wish this place had been around when we had younger kids, even teens--they would have loved the basement! Woodburning fireplace was a bonus! Katy was always very responsive. We had a hot water issue that was rectified lickety split. We highly recommend this property. Would love to be here in the summer to enjoy the outdoor spaces as well!
This home was perfect for a long weekend trip with two couples and our dogs, with plenty of space ( and then some) for our group. Outside we thoroughly enjoyed the views from the wraparound balcony as well as sitting around the firepit, and the dogs loved playing out in the large secluded yard. Location was great for exploring this area of Michigan, short drives to some great hikes and not too far from Traverse City. Highly recommend
We loved staying here! And I love how this house is built into side of hill and oriented. Perfect for hot summers (I’d imagine) and perfect in the fall and cold days because of all the natural light. It’s my dream house! Enjoyed the sunrises while sitting beside cozy fireplace. It’s a fantastic place. Our boys played tons of ping pong. The kitchen is clean and has good working utensils and pans etc. I truely found the place perfect. Also simple to drive to all nearby attractions. I thought I might be sad to not have lakefront, but I felt so happy and eager coming back to this hillside haven. Again, I just love this house!!!
Lovely space, would definitely book again. It was the perfect size for our group of six, well equipped with everything needed and more. Plenty to enjoy in the surrounding areas being closely located to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City and more.
Katy was a kind and easy going host. The check-in and out rules were super reasonable. The house has a lot more amenities than lots of airbnbs I’ve stayed in. A great house for kids/families. The house is very conveniently located within a short drive of lots of nature activities and restaurants. Well worth the money and I would definitely stay here again if I were back in the area.
Explore Alligator Hill right out the back door, or within a five minute drive, you can climb the famous Dune Climb, visit Glen Haven beach, or hike/bike the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.
Rent a boat at The Narrows marina on Big Glen or launch your own at the public launch on Little Glen Lake - both are a short walk away.
Glen Arbor and Lake Michigan are 2.5 miles down the road. This property is unique in that is provides a close to nature vibe that flows from a park like setting and a large elevated lot with expansive views of the surrounding area. Its close to everything except your neighbor.
