We chose this rental for location: right in the center of the path of totality for the April solar eclipse and convenient for family gathering from several states. But the house and hosts were beyond amazing. Our party ranged in age from 4 to 94 and everyone loved the place. The house is spacious, extremely well-equipped (everything you could want is provided), in a lovely location, with comfy beds, and spotlessly clean. The decor was a delight: our littles loved the antique phone booth and the windmill/woodcutter, and the diner booth was great for eating and game playing. We were wowed by the artistry of Deb's mom's needlepoint. Most impressive of all was the hospitality of the hosts. I have never felt such a warm and personalized welcome; it was like staying in a (non-intrusive) family member's guest house. They supplied drinks and treats, and even put together an eclipse-specific welcome package for us (glasses and glow sticks for the kids). Cannot recommend highly enough!!

The house was beautifully decorated and the grounds were lovely! The lane leading to the cottage was a highlight. The cottage was spotless and amenities were wonderful! We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to the area.

The place was perfect. The kids loved it. We all loved it. It was quiet and peaceful and there were plenty of hikes in the area to keep us happy. We would most definitely stay again. Sherrill was responsive and we were able to meet and chat one of the days. It was a lovely place and we were sad to go.

This was our second time staying at Sherrill's place (the first time just my husband and me, and this time with our three children). It absolutely exceeded our expectations again!! It is welcoming, beautiful, clean, clutter-free, easy to access, and stocked with all kinds of little treasures (like board games and puzzles, cans of coke, extra blankets, firewood & roasting skewers, and even s'mores supplies!). My children loved the location; we played basketball, corn hole, and went for walks around the beautiful property, and we had a blast roasting hot dogs & s'mores in their easy-to-use fire pit (they even provided kindling/fire starters!). Sherrill and his wife even walked out to greet us when we arrived, and they were so responsive, understanding, and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this place and would definitely love to stay again! Not a single complaint--my children already want to return!!
