Such a relaxing, fun weekend for the family. We fished off the dock (successfully!), hiked the Big M trails nearby, read books in the huge cozy chair by the fireplace looking out at the river, played LOTS of pool, and made some delicious homemade meals in the kitchen. My two daughters (3 and 6) had a blast fishing, playing board games, learning pool, hiking, and just exploring the beautiful house and it's "secret" hiding places. We saw lots of wildlife right from the cabin, including a brown mink, muskrats, geese, ducks, large woodpeckers, hawks, along with a cacophony of morning bird songs that were fun to track and catalogue with the girls. We all slept VERY well, and just plain enjoyed the opportunity to unwind and be present. 10/10 coming back soon.

This place was perfect! It’s a nice quiet getaway on the river. It’s cozy! The house is well set up for a quiet weekend but it’s not a far drive to the local stores or downtown areas. The lodge had a great layout which was perfect as a couples get away but could be a great place for a family or group of friends to use together. The host mentions this in the notes, but the last stretch of road to get to the house is off a dirt road. I would recommend all wheel drive if arriving in the winter like we did, just for the last quarter mile to the house.

We absolutely loved our stay! My cousin had previously booked a stay and we had had dinner with her there, so it was a no brainer for me to bring my family for Christmas! We sent our letter to Santa so he could find us, and he did show up! The kids were thrilled that Santa was able to still find us! We played pool, watched the sound of music and so many other things. My father-in-law came for Christmas dinner and thankfully the home is wheelchair accessible, to an extent! A huge bonus for us, since he is very limited on mobility! We were able to wheel him right in through the slider and he was able to play pool! Not everything is wheelchair accessible, but he just stayed for dinner so this really wasn’t a problem for us. The beds were so comfy! And it was such a peaceful sleep! We also had everything we needed to cook! The view was absolutely peaceful. And with 50 degree temps on Christmas Day, we absolutely took advantage of that by sitting on the dock!
