A unique accommodation: Birgit and Chamal not only have a beautiful, perfectly equipped and perfectly clean room, they also have such a big heart. You feel absolutely welcome! And you can decide every moment whether you want to be alone, or exchange. An inspiring conversation, a delicious breakfast together or cuddling with Lilly, the enchanting dog, on the terrace. They shown me the secret, beautiful corners of the area with the scooter. And I slept well in the wonderful silence. I recommend everyone to make a stop and stay here!

This is the place to be when someone wants to explore this side of the country. I’ve stayed many days at Birgit and Chamal house for many reasons: the house is spotless clean, comfortable bed, silent and peaceful atmosphere, and very helpful and welcoming hosts. The house can be reached by bus and a short tuk tuk ride. They made me feel at ease since I entered the house and helped me do the best activities in the area: the Madu river boat ride, a scooter visit of the village and local market, a visit to an amazing temple and a unique experience with a local fisherman. This is the best place to explore the real local culture and Sri Lankan hospitality.

I extended my stay for other more days. I wanted to rest during my travels and this is the perfect place to be. Birgit and Chamal have gone far and beyond to fulfil my needs as a Youtuber in search for stories and adventures to film for my channel. I’ll never forget their kindness and helping attitude. Don’t miss to stay at their house when you’re travelling south.

I stayed at Birgit and Chamals place for 11 nights. I had planned to stay only a few nights but it was such a great experience that I kept extending my stay. Birgit and Chamal are the best hosts you could ask for. They invited me into their home and made me a part of their family from the first day. They were lovely and helpful and would have done anything for me. Also Lilly the dog is very sweet and loves her cuddles. Their newly built house and garden are beautiful and my room was big and spacious. It had access to a balcony and lots of storage space in the room with a big cupboard and new furniture. The bathroom and shower were also spacious. The whole place was spotlessly clean. For breakfast they adjusted to what I wanted to eat which was great. The WIFI worked perfectly. The house is set away from the road in a peaceful village. You won't hear much noise apart from the local temples. Restaurants and the beach are in walking distance.
