One of the best views on the south coast. A blissful holiday destination for beach lovers, foodies, walkers, surfers or if you just love curling up on the couch. Take in the panoramic views from the Coorong to the Bluff which is perfect for whale watching. Southern Right whales are often seen breaching the waters of the bay, June to September. Chiton is named after the small mollusc that inhabits Chiton rocks (short walk in a westerly direction along the beach), and can be seen all year round. Artwork from local artists collected over many years is on display throughout the house and the relaxed coastal vibe instantly soothes the soul. The views from the lounge are breathtaking. The second lounge is a great place for the kids to chill.

A short stroll to pristine Chiton Rocks beach, which includes a safe swimming beach patrolled by the nearby Chiton Surf Lifesaving Club. ‘Railways’ and Chiton surf breaks provide year round surfing and friends and family can watch from the balcony. Fleurieu Peninsula’s famous Cockle Train runs past the property and can be viewed from the balcony. For adventurous souls, there are 79 walking trails listed in the Fleurieu Peninsula region.

To eat out or enjoy coffee and cake, meander just down the road to the Chiton Beach Café, at the Chiton Rocks Surf Lifesaving Club. The historic township of Port Elliot is a 15 minute walk to enjoy the many shops, cafes and restaurants, Victor Harbor is approximately a 40 minute walk along the beach or a 10 minute ride on the bike track which runs past the house. Wineries, Food Trails, National Parks are all within short driving distances.

Hi, my name is Chris and my husband and I built this holiday home over 20 years ago. We have had so much fun here with our 2 children, family and friends. Many long days have been spent on the beach, surfing, boarding, reading and cricketing with dogs in tow. The beaches in the area are all fabulous as they offer such different experiences and we head to different beaches depending on the wind and swell. My family love to travel and have dragged a camper trailer all over Australia and enjoyed overseas travel as well. We have spent the last couple of years doing some minor renovations on the house, bringing the house into a more modern decor, this will culminate in a fire pit area at the front of the house mid year. I sincerely hope you have as much fun in our house as we have over the last 20 years and will endeavour to create a wonderful holiday experience for you.
