Wow- this experience exceeded our expectations. My sister and I traveled to Tanekura Inn for a getaway in the mountains and are leaving feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Shinji is a wonderful host- he taught us to make Soba noodles, cooked us an authentic breakfast and dinner, and provided a beautiful space for us to stay in. We loved the private onsen experience and walking around the small village. Shinji was very responsive, scheduling us a taxi to and from the local train. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Japan who is looking for a unique experience. We can’t thank Shinji and Emily enough!

Shinji was kind and so great with our kids. We loved our village walk, foraging for wild vegetables, and making soba. Dinner was amazing. It's a beautiful village, and we were so happy to get out of the bigger cities!
