A nice quiet area of town, located almost exactly in between the airport and town centre.
There are no supermarkets or restaurants walking distance from the apartment, but they are only a short bus ride away (see getting around section).
There are a couple of cafes at Frankton Marina as well as Altitude Brewery Bar and a gas/petrol station with shop there. This is around 15 minutes walk down the hill, check online for opening times.
The Frankton Walking track and lake access is very close only 5 minutes walk from the apartment (see getting around section).

BUS TRAVEL
Bus travel is very easy and recommended in Queenstown. They come approximately every 15-20 minutes during the day and it’s a short 10-15 minute ride to town or the airport. The closest bus stop is a very short 2 minute walk from the apartment and it’s called battery hill bus stop.
Note the Battery Hill bus stop on the same side of the road of the apartment will take you in the Frankton/Airport direction (do check the bus number & destination in this direction), and if you cross the road that bus stop takes you into Queenstown (all busses travelling in this direction will stop in Queenstown).
When you arrive at the airport or in town I would advise buying a yellow Bee card if you are to use the bus frequently (more info can be provided on how to get these).
UBER/TAXIS
Uber/Taxis do operate at the airport and in town, for example it will cost around $25-30 from the airport to the apartment.
WALKING TRACK
The Frankton Track is a lovely walking/biking track around the lake, you can access this easily from the apartment. Walk out to the main road, then cross over and walk down the driveway for Alpine Village apartments, keep walking down and you will then see a pathway over a stream which takes you down to the track. When you get to the track make a mental note or photo of the pathway off the track so you remember where it is. If you walk right along the track it takes you to Queenstown Gardens and the town, takes around 45-60 minutes walk for most people and has plenty of benches to stop to enjoy the views.
SKI BUS
During the winter the ski bus you can book will stop outside the apartment at Battery Hill bus stop. Search the web for "Queenstown Ski Bus" for more info.
TOUR BUS / MILFORD SOUND
If you book a tour bus going to Milford Sounds for example check what places they stop at. The closest bus stop is Battery Hill however not all tour busses stop here, the next closest option could be a pickup from Sherwood Hotel or Holiday Inn Frankton Road which are both around 10-15 mins walk from the apartment.
APARTMENT CAR PARK
Important you must check availability and pre book parking as it is allocated and limited in the apartment car park. The cost for parking is $10 per day for the first 5 days, then $5 per day after that for longer bookings. If anyone is caught parking in a neighbours space you may get clamped and fined.
FREE PARKING
If you wish to park for free using street parking the closest place normally with spaces is along side De La Mare Park on Middleton Road which is 5 mins walk (ask for directions) if you are parking here you are ok to drive to the house to drop off or pick up luggage quickly.
