Relax with the whole family at this cozy cottage located on Avoca Lake. This 3 bedroom 1 bath house features a large deck and patio area with a fire pit, outdoor dining space, and gas grill. Enjoy fishing off the dock or use the included kayaks/canoes and explore the lake. Launch your boat at the adjacent public launch or bring your UTV to enjoy beautiful scenery on the open County Roads. There is something to do for the whole family! Lakeshore River Retreat cottage is located on a large lot next to the public launch on Avoca Lake. The cottage is cozy with cute lake theme décor throughout. There is plenty to do outside but for any rainy days DVDs and games are provided. Outdoor Space - Enjoy a large deck with patio furniture and grill and nearby fire pit with seating. Kayaks/canoes are included as well as fishing poles, life jackets and any other water toys. Kitchen - Fully stocked to include all dishes, cooking supplies, grilling utensils and small appliances Living Room - Sectional sofa for extra sleeping, smart TV and additional seating to view the lake while sipping coffee or tea Bedroom 1 - Queen bed (sleeps 2) Bedroom 2 - Twin bunk bed and additional twin bed (sleeps 3), TV with DVD player Bedroom 3 - Full bed (sleeps 2), TV with DVD player Den - Sofa/futon for additional guests (sleeps 2), smart TV, bar/additional counter space Bathroom - Recently updated with one sink and standing shower. Very cute cabin on the water. Very, very clean. Great backyard, porch, firepit and waterfront! It is a cabin and has a few quirks but nothing that would stop us from going again(slight cabin smell, small shower and bedrooms). But every room has a tv, it has 2 "living rooms" which is nice, great view and nice amenities like usb ports everywhere, extra bedding, full kitchen, great rainfall showerhead, etc. Would strongly recommend.
We were looking for a lake cabin close to Madison for a quick family getaway, and this place was absolutely perfect for us! With ample room and beds for our 3 kids, we even invited the grandparents. Took one of the provided canoes out and met the neighborhood turtles, which was a big hit with the kids! Just an ideal weekend with the family. Our host was very responsive and accommodating. A perfect weekend escape.

Great piece of property with all the amenities for a great stay. Host was super responsive and made the process simple. It did take us a little bit to get warmed up, but the space heaters helped a ton! Thanks for a relaxing few days!
It was a very comfortable place to stay! We had a nice time relaxing in the living room together and playing games. We would stay again!

Lakeshore River Retreat is located on Avoca Lake which is right next to the Avoca Lakeside park and campground and neighboring community homes. This quiet retreat has close access to downtown Avoca which features a small bar and grill (Whiskey Row Saloon), a small convenience store and Avoca Mercantile for shopping. Avoca is a small town for relaxing but if you are looking to try something other than cottage life, we are located near the following options with plenty to do:
Spring Green - (19 minutes) - Restaurants (Wisconsin Riverside Resort, Homecoming, Last Leaf, Baron Brooks Sports Bar), shopping (downtown features many local artists and gift shops, Simply Rooted), public swimming pool and parks with tennis and pickle ball courts or canoeing/kayaking/tubing down the Wisconsin River, site seeing (The House on the Rock, American Players Theater, Taliesin) or golfing at The Springs.
Richland Center (22 minutes) - Restaurants (Los Amigos Mexican, Phoenix Bowling, multiple fast food restaurants), shopping (Walmart and downtown boutiques), or adventuring to the indoor Galaxy Skating Rink or Woodman Aquatic Center.
Muscoda (7 minutes) - Restaurants (Vicki's Cozy Cafe, Honkers, Muscoda Sportsman's Club) and is home of Meister Cheese.
Lone Rock (11 minutes) - Restaurants (Woody's, Lone Rock Bistro, Taco Shop) and splash pad at the local park.
All of the above listed are small towns along the Wisconsin River with a lot to do!
