Located in Middletown NY, Wawayanda Lodge is a recently renovated house that has the thoughtful charm to be your home away from home, but also includes many of the in-home amenities you might expect from a resort hotel. Some of New York State’s biggest attractions are right here in Orange County, including United States Military Academy at West Point, Storm King Art Center, Legoland New York, and Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. The Living Room is our favorite spot to enjoy in the house. Lounge on the leather sofas, switch on the Smart TV (where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account) for movie night or the big game, or enjoy one of our board games with your group. The living room is adjacent to the kitchen which has an expansive island and stools for gathering around and a dining room with enough seating for your group to dine together. Sleeping Arrangements Wawayanda Lodge has 5 traditional bedrooms and can sleep 10 guests. With 3 King Size Bedrooms, 1 Queen Size Bedroom and 1 bedroom with a bunk bed, you will find room for your entire group to spread out. All bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens and are thoughtfully decorated. Smart TVs are in bedrooms as well where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account. The entire house has central air so you can keep it to your groups preferred temperature. The Kitchen The Kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti Bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee, there is a coffee machine, please feel free to bring along your favourite roast. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for such a large group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too. Bathrooms There are 4 bathrooms at Wawayanda Lodge. Two of which are full bathrooms and have spacious shower with rain shower head and are stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer in each, and super plush towels. The third and fourth bathrooms (half bathrooms) are not full bathrooms, they only have a toilet and a sink inside to use. Outdoors If BBQ-ing is your thing, we have you covered with a propane grill. An extra tank is provided in case the one there runs low and needs to be swapped out. For the kiddos (and parents) As parents ourselves, we understand the fun and challenges that come with travelling with kids. We’ve stocked our home with creature comforts to make your stay with smaller guests more enjoyable. For dining we have BPA free plastic dinnerware and cups for the kids as well as a highchair for our smallest of guests. Our home has a pack and play, a baby Björn bouncer, wipe-able changing table, and a skip hop activity center. We have a handful of wood toys and books for your kiddo’s enjoyment. In the kitchen drawers, you'll find outlet covers should you need them for your stay. Lastly, we have a (non Wi-Fi) baby monitor you can use thru your stay, perfect for keeping an eye on your sleeping kids.
Still so in love with the house. Pictures does no justice. Even more beautiful in person! Hosted my sister in law’s bachelorette here and all of the girls were obsessed!! 10/10 recommend! We will be coming back really soon!!
Great place. My family had a great time & slept well. Kitchen was great for morning breakfasts w/ the kiddos & evening entertaining.
Great space for 8-10 people. Our family of 5 had plenty of space. It was very clean and had a washer and dryer. We did tours in Warwick, Walkill and Patterson. Not far from the Woodbury Premium Outlets. Close to grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!
There are several lakes near our house like Lake Pocatello, Silver Lake, and Mohagen Lake. You will find a few restaurants nearby like Oak & Reed, Hanami Japanese Restaurant and Alondra's Cuisine. Near you, you will find bars & pubs like The Bee Tavern, Players & J's Place. Grocery stores are 5 minutes’ drive away. In addition, there are two markets nearby for your convenience. This house is so well located that you will find great Food & Drink options moments away.

Local Attractions
Lake Pocatello – 7min drive.
Pocatello is an outdoor oasis. Mountains – most notably the peaks of the Bannock Range – surround the city. The Portneuf River – one of few rivers to flow northward – runs through Pocatello and joins the Snake River at the American Falls reservoir north of the city. Pull on hiking shoes and catch up to the City Creek Trail System to explore a series of trails; some of them even have map systems to use with your smartphone. Find Cherry Springs Nature Area within Caribou-Targhee National Forest, a hotspot for birding – over 100 species have been documented here – and wildlife viewing. Yet another way to experience Pocatello’s great outdoors is at the Portneuf Wellness Complex. With sports fields, basketball courts, sand volleyball and a nearly three-hectare lake for swimming and fishing, you’ll have some serious fun in the fresh air.
Harness Racing Museum – 16min drive.
Visitors experience interactive exhibitory, informative films and a timeline of the sport's history from its late 18th century New York roots through today. Visitors can also experience the thrill of racing firsthand with a ride on the museum's 3D simulator.
Highland Lakes State Park – 18min drive.
Highland Lakes State Park consists of more than 3,000 acres of undeveloped woods and lakes in Orange County. Visitors use the park for fishing, hiking, horseback riding and flying model planes.
Dater Mountain Nature Park – 40min drive.
The Dater Mountain Nature Park is a beautiful nature reserve in upstate New York. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including deer, bears, and bobcats. Visitors can enjoy hiking and camping in the park's pristine forests, or fishing and swimming in its many lakes and rivers. The park is also a great place for birdwatching, with over 150 species of birds spotted in the area.
Storm King State Park— Howell Trailhead – 40min drive.
Storm King State Park is located on the west bank of the Hudson River in Cornwall-on-Hudson and covers 1,972 acres. The steep sides and rounded tops of these mountains, carved out by the last ice age, create a significant bend in the river, which marks the beginning of a fjord that stretches south to West Point and Bear Mountain State Park. The main peaks are Storm King Mountain, Butter Hill, North Point, and Pitching Point (along the North Point Ridge), and each of the trails follows steep and quick ascents to their respective summits. This entire state park is graced with many viewpoints overlooking the Hudson Valley in all directions. Directly across the river is Hudson Highlands State Park, where Breakneck Ridge and Mount Taurus are the most prominent summits in view to the east. To the south, you can see Constitution Island and the United States Military Academy, where one of several chain booms was located during the Revolutionary War to prevent enemy ships from sailing up the Hudson River.
Hook Mountain State Park – 55min drive.
Hook Mountain is the site of a 676-acre undeveloped park stretching through almost seven miles of waterfront and cliff slopes. At 730 feet, its summit offers spectacular views of Rockland Lake and the Hudson River valley. It is also a prime location for watching various types of hawks: sharp-shinned, Cooper's, Northern Goshawks, Red-shouldered, Broad-winged, Red-tailed. The Audubon Society estimates that an average of more than 12,000 hawks fly by Hook Mountain each Fall.

Otisville Train Station – 15min drive from the house location.
