Stayed here for a week - family of five plus dog. Craster Tower is unique with lots of lovely character features. It is exceptionally well equipped - the hosts have thought of everything. It is extremely spacious, expect to do more steps than normal while staying here 🙂 and to lose a person/ dog now and then. The piano room was my favourite room, so peaceful and cosy with the fire lit. there is so much do in the surrounding area - castles, beaches and stunning scenery. Great stay.
Craster Tower was fantastic - what a special place to stay, very unique, lovely location, spacious, well equipped, cosy, and exactly as described. Fiona was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Would absolutely recommend to others and we’d definitely stay again on our next trip to Northumberland. We had a lovely stay and had a fabulous relaxing family weekend. The house is just amazing and we enjoyed meeting Fiona and Michael who gave us a potted history of the pele tower. Being greeted with a pot of tea and some mince pies set the tone! Many thanks.
Fiona and Michael were great hosts and the place was outstanding and very welcoming! It was a fantastic place for our first visit to Northumberland with various family members coming together. The top floor with a piano was a particularly enjoyable piece of the venue. We would definitely recommend it!
Craster Tower is a beautiful and really unique place to stay. The warm welcome from Fiona and Michael was lovely and we had everything needed throughout our stay. We were 6 adults, two children, a baby and a dog and there was more than enough space. The kids loved the extra touches like the play room with games console and table football, while the adults had plenty of space to relax together or apart! The kitchen is well equipped and there are lots of interesting things to read in the gallery. Even the fire wood is provided. The location is lovely, with great walks nearby and easy driving distance to some of the best places in Northumberland. The house also has EV chargers (payable with a good system), which is also a huge bonus. We would love to return again, a place that will be well remembered for years to come. Thank you.

Hi I'm Fiona . I am listing our top floor apartment in Craster Tower , which has been our family's home since the middle of the 11th Century. So we've been here for the best part of 850 years, we're quite proud of it, and we're happy to share it with those who like an unusual and genuinely historical place to stay. Michael, my husband, was in the military, and during his service we lived in 30 different houses as far apart as England, Scotland, Berlin, Brussels and Vienna - amongst others. We may not always have had what we wanted, but my goodness I learnt what I didn't want! I designed the Apartment with those lessons in mind, with the aim of providing a real English country house experience for our guests, and so far most of them seem to feel that we have succeeded! If you look at our website I hope that you will agree, and that you will take the opportunity to come and try it out for yourself. We live in a beautiful part of the country with a whole mass of historical, cultural and outdoor possibilities - Northumbria is the cradle of English Celtic Christianity, as well as the northern boundary of the Roman Empire and the turbulent border between medieval England and Scotland. It has beautiful beaches and great hill-walking. Much of it is remote and sparsely populated - it has been known for a long time as the north's best-kept secret!
