Located in the Heart of the Northampton Countryside Peacock Cottage provide modern contemporary accommodation at the heart of the historic site and the ruins of Kirby Hall The two bedroom property is located in the ground of Kirby Hall. From the main road the drive leads you pass fields and along the avenue of Horse-chestnut trees to a gated archway. Peacock Cottage is located beyond the arch and as a enclosed garden with car parking for two cars. The Accommodation On the ground floor of the property is: A spacious Lounge Fully Fitted Kitchen Dining Room with snug ready area Family Bathroom. On the first floor there is: Master Bedroom with a king-size bed Twin Bedroom with two single beds A WC A cot and highchair can be provided on request Peacock Cottages has a small private garden with outside furniture and a barbecue. The front of the property opens in to the parkland of the Kirby Hall, where peacocks freely roam the grounds and the the Parterre Garden; a beautiful spot to relax and soak up the atmosphere. This is a dog friendly holiday cottage and can accommodate two well behaved dogs. Dogs are restricted to the ground floor rooms in the property. Once the public have gone home, explore the ruins of this once great house and wander around the parterre gardens with their elaborate 'cutwork' design, complete with statues and urns. Guest staying at an English Heritage receive a VIP card which provides a 10% discount in the onsite shop and tea rooms. The card also provides free access to neighbouring sites; Rushton Triangular Lodge and Lyddington Bede house.
By Car From the A43 take the turning for Deene, also signposted for Kirby Hall. Follow this road for approx. 1.5mile. The entrance to Kirby Hall is on the right. Drive through the main gate over the cattle grid and along the chestnut lined avenue. Pass through the large gates to the cottage with its gated garden for parking.
Travel direction from Corby Follow the A43 through Corby until you get to the roundabout showing Oakham A6116 and take the 1st exit onto the A6116. At the next roundabout approx. ½ mile, take the 3rd exit onto Birchington Rd. After approx. ¼ mile at the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Gretton Rd. After approx. 1 mile turn right onto Kirby Lane. Kirby Hall is approx. ½ on the left hand side.
By Train The nearest train station is Kettering train station, 11 miles. Taxis are available from the station.
Car Parking There is parking for two vehicles adjacent to the cottage.
