There are some great walks around and above Tolo.
Nafplion, just ten minutes away, is a great place for people interested in history. It was the first capital of liberated Greece after the Turkish occupation and has three castles, many historical monuments and a choice of museums. The archaeological museum in the town's main square exhibits treasures from the archaeological sites of the area, there is also a folklore museum, military museum, worry bead museum and an ouzo museum (one of a kind).
It is possible to visit all the wonderful sites of the Peloponnese using Tolo as a base and you should not miss visits to the Ancient Theatre of Epidavros (20 minutes), the Ancient site of Mycenae (20 minutes), Ancient Tiryntha (just outside Nafplion) and Ancient Asini (on the headland at the beginning of Tolo).
There are many beaches to visit in the area. Follow the coast around from Tolo beach and visit Kastraki beach, Plaka beach (Drepano, Vivari Beach, Kondyli beach at Candia and Iria beach. All have their own charm.

Public transport is available from the bus stop at the top of the road which goes to Nafplion and then connects with Athens and the rest of the Peloponnese. We would recommend a car to be able to take advantage of the whole area if you are not looking for a lazy beach holiday. We are, nevertheless, able to organise a taxi transfer to the Tolo from the airport or your port of arrival at an extra charge.
There is a bus from Athens Kifisso bus station that travels directly to Nafplio which in turn links to the bus to Tolo. This bus station is also linked to the airport by a regular local bus.
It is possible to travel all over the Peloponnese from Nafplion bus station, some routes are direct and others via Korinthos.
