We really enjoyed staying at Monica’s place! The house was very cute, well equipped and pretty spacious! Communication with Monica was good, we met at the church in Lican and drove together to the house. House itself is secure with its surrounding walls and the neighbourhood is pretty quiet as well - the street nearby is a bit noisy at night, but that wasn’t a big deal for us :) All in all we can really recommend Monica’s house - it gives you a great feeling how it’s like to live in a tiny house in Ecuador!

Schattig huisje met leuke tuin. Onze dochter vond het bubbelbad heel leuk! We werden niet door Monica ontvangen, maar ze had geregeld dat 2 vriendinnen ons ontvingen en die deden dat heel goed! Super lieve mensen. Ze hebben ons ook goed geholpen met de huurauto die een kleine reparatie nodig had. In het huis lagen allerlei basisbenodigdheden die je voor een klein bedrag kon gebruiken. Wij hadden het niet nodig, maar is toch heel fijn als je zelf iets vergeten bent! Al met al fijn plekje om met je gezin een paar dagen te zijn.

Monica is a wonderful host. She was very responsive and met us at the local church with her helpful son to guide us to our stay for the night. The place is unique and felt authentic - a taste of a real Ecuadorian farmhouse. The gardens were well tended and beautiful. It’s in a great spot to visit Chimborazo if you want to be close but not at such a high elevation. I would recommend it to others going to Chimborazo, which we absolutely loved even though we weren’t climbing the mountain.
