This comfy hideaway is three blocks from the Neuse River and a short walk to Historic Downtown along the tree-lined scenic river walkway. Your walk ends at Union Point Park with beautiful views of the river, a playground, and lots of ducks and sea gulls. Downtown has great restaurants, breweries, interesting shops, and art galleries, The Tryon Palace and other historic landmarks are all close by. Leave your car behind! Very walkable! Enter the elegant first floor apartment with 12-foot ceilings and a historic picture window and front door to match. Everything has been lovingly modernized with excellent central AC, and free fast WiFi. The living room sofa is the perfect spot to watch the sunset through the trees or enjoy free streaming of Netflix, Max, Prime and Roku on the 42" smart TV. The bedroom has a comfortable full-sized bed for two people, ensuite bathroom, a dedicated workspace, and a closet with lots of storage. The sofa in the living room can be made up with twin sheets for a third guest or child. At 32" x 72" it is slightly smaller than a standard twin mattress and amazingly comfortable! The galley kitchen has a sink and counter, small refrigerator with separate freezer, microwave, two-burner stove, and air-fryer combo oven on one side, and a full size rolling kitchen island on the other. Lots of counter and storage space. Dishes, silverware, basic food prep' supplies, and cooking pans and utensils are all provided. When not in use, the kitchen is hidden behind stylish curtains. There are dinner settings for four and a small dining table for two. A separate beverage station faces the sofa with a Keurig coffee and latté maker, boiling water kettle, and lots of coffee, tea and add-ons. Enjoy free laundry 24/7 in the basement and easy street parking. Dine outdoors in the garden under a tree as the evening breezes come up from the Neuse River.

This is a lovely place, cozy and comfy right near the historic Old Pinnix drug store (now a cocktail and toast restaurant), near beautiful historic churches, the river, and the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The building has so much history. It was just lovely. Parking was easy, and gaining access to the property and checking out was also easy. Christie was super responsive. I had a great stay and will be back.
We were distracted by the demands of a move--forgot the address, got there late, left early, took her key--and she rolled with it. We appreciated her graciousness. We also loved her place. Cute, comfortable, convenient to downtown. Would love to stay again!
This place is fantastic. Christine was the perfect host. She responded right away to any questions and offered suggestions to local spots. Her place was smartly decorated and stocked with everything you may need. She provided snacks, coffee, spices, any utensils needed and then some. A real home. The couch was super comfy and tv was in the perfect spot for laying and watching every streaming platform you could think of. The bed was great and the room was nice and cool. The bathroom was stocked and had plenty of towels. There is a train that comes by at 9:30pm. You don’t really hear the train but you hear the arm and warning lights that block the roadway. No biggie. A few blocks to the center of town. One and a half blocks to the police station. Half a block from a historic cemetery. And a few hundred feet from a restored pharmacy turned into an upscale bar. This was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back.
Loved staying at Christie’s! Perfect for a weekend away to explore New Bern for two. Everything was walkable and so many things to check out!
What a great place to stay! Very well-equipped and comfortable, with all the amenities you would want. It was a short walk to downtown New Bern. And The Pinnix is a fun, friendly bar and grill, right across the street. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Here's a short list of the interesting attractions in New Bern.
* Take the historic trolley tour to get an overview. Our Rhone Hotel building is one of the stops!
* Visit Tryon Palace and many historic houses affiliated, particularly their gardens. Catch the trolley here too.
* Farmers Market - Saturday mornings until 2pm. Eclectic and local. Great baked goods and crafts as well as farm fresh produce.
* Mitchell's hardware - Iconic general store and loving staff carrying on Gary's neighborly legacy, longtime owner who passed suddenly a few years ago.
* Union Point Park - Watch and feed the ducks and the seagulls under an amazing Montezuma cypress tree and walk along the river.
* The Chelsea for a fancy dinner or lunch - Ask for a table on the second floor in the corner. It gives you a better view of town below.
* Morgan's if it rains - Go for lunch and watch the rain from the beautiful covered patio in the back.
* Persimmons by the river for the best sunset water view - Go for drinks. Review the menu before you go.
* Cypress Hall - A great place for open air drinks and watching downtown folks.
This hideaway is three blocks from the river and a short walk through a tree-lined neighborhood along the scenic river walk to shopping destinations, great restaurants, unique breweries, art galleries, historic landmarks and so much more in downtown New Bern. The Tryon Palace is an 8-minute walk away. Leave your car behind! Very walkable!
All shopping is available within a 5-10 minute drive.
