Er fantastisk sted med de mest betagende omgivelser. Huset var præcis som beskrevet- et mountain house, med naturen som den afgørende luksus. Dejligt med den lille, men kølige pool og pizzabagning i stenovn. Et break fra larm, internet og mobil, som fordrede til nærvær og hygge. Kan klart anbefales.

I do not recommend this accommodation. You can find better for cheaper and there are some questionable practices you should avoid. First of all, the pictures do not give a particularly good idea of the house and its facilities. The pictures omit the worst parts and leave an impression of a large and spacious house. This is not representative. The house is on a hill but it's not built into it, so the incline severely limits the space available. There's also a large garage/storeroom which further limits the space. So the house feels a great deal more cramped than what you would expect. Furthermore, the pictures omit the rickety and overly steep stairs between the floors. It's much too narrow to use properly and it's dangerously close to the door of one of the bedrooms. I'm sure anyone who isn't tiny or with the surest of feet would struggle on these stairs. The fact that their existence is omitted on pictures is unacceptable. The bathroom is terrible. Once again, there are no pictures of it. The room is cramped but it still holds both the toilet and the shower. Yet there's no curtain or booth so the water from the shower soaks every surface upon use, making the basic function of cleaning yourself an ordeal for everyone in the house. The toilet and other facilities show signs of wear and damage, with parts missing. And the boiler is small, making showering in close succession unpleasant for a few people, let alone the six the house is advertised for. The pool is also misrepresented. Aivars talks about it as if there are different depths in some sensible arrangement, yet it's also on an incline so that there's almost no room for the water. The 'step' for the deepest bit is barely large enough to stand in and the rest quickly becomes very shallow. The pool had also not been maintained properly so the water was dirty and the mechanism for chlorination was broken. While the manager promised to send a pool technician, nobody arrived in the following four days that we were there. So we didn't have safe use of the pool. Communication was also a bit weird. Aivars sent several messages but they felt more like disclaimers than advice or information. This was reinforced on arrival when we found four different sets of rules for the (unusable) pool. Most of the rules didn't function to inform the user but to rather absolve Aivars from blame. This is very different from a typical experience in the region. Furthermore, we had to duplicate messages as Aivars and Tamara, the manager, don't seem to communicate between each other. Another point, mentioned in other reviews, is the lack of mobile phone coverage. There's no service, not for Internet, or calls or even emergencies. You're entirely cut off. This should be stated in the advert as it clearly makes the house unsuitable for certain people. While we could work around it, if felt uncomfortable to be informed about this fact after we had arrived and had thus already been cut off. There's also the incident of the wines. We forgot a case of fine wines at the house. This was partly due to the cleaner arriving at 9am and sitting right by the breakfast table, despite checkout being at 11. After explaining to the Italian speaking lady that we are not leaving early, we still felt pressured to vacate the premises ASAP and thus rushed out. We then forgot a case of rather expensive wines. Yet upon inquiry from the manager of the house, we were told that 'the cleaner found nothing'. This cannot be because we know exactly where we left the box. While other Airbnb's have gone out of their way to return trifles, this attitude is frankly borderline malicious. The final point is that the house happened to be the most expensive of our four Apuane houses for the year, yet it had the worst amenities, facilities and communication. It's just not worth it. Find something else, it's likely to be cheaper and better.

The view from the terrace is amazing and you can do nice long hikes directly from the house. Note that it is up the mountain so there is no phone connection or WiFi and it takes about 30 minutes to get down from the mountain. But this also gives you a chance to unwind and detach from social media. We loved our stay!
