华盛顿 · 整套民居 · 1室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Capitol Hill Meets Union Market
This is a private one-bedroom garden apartment on the bottom floor of a Washington row home in a great central location. It's convenient to the monuments and museums on the national mall, the entertainment of H Street NE and the shopping and dining at Union Market. It's also a 10 minute walk to Union Station and Galludet University. And everything you need -- Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Solid State Bookstore, coffee shops, playgrounds and dining -- is within a block or two. The apartment, about 800 square feet in size, has a spacious living room, a full kitchen, a dining space, a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a bathroom with shower. The living room couch can be turned into a full-sized bed, and a pack-n-play is available as well. There is a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the unit has air conditioning for hot D.C. summers.
We had a wonderful few days in Jeremiah's place in April 2024 - The location was perfect - easy to get to all the sites on the Mall and the neighbourhood is perfect for eating in a cosmopolitan American city. Equally, the kitchen was really well equipped for cooking from scratch when taking a break from eating out. Likewise, the rest of the set up was to the high standards that were listed. Thank you for a great stay.
We felt very comfortable in the neighborhood. Walking distance to metro/bus. We would consider renting again if we stay in the future.
Jeremiah's place was GREAT! Parking was available with a provided pass right in front of home, and the place is very conveniently located to several Metro stops and some really great NOMA foodie options! The kids loved the fold out couch (super comfy) and the place was EXACTLY as described. Would stay here again hands-down. Thinking about DC, this adorable place has it all! Thanks and hope to stay here again :)
On a quiet residential street two blocks off of the bustling H Street NE corridor. Near Union Station, Capitol Hill, Union Market and the National Arboretum.
Old City Market and Oven (522 K St NE): A beloved neighborhood corner store with unusually great food. They make wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, breakfast burritos and espresso drinks. You can also shop for wine, beer, snacks or other pantry staples. And there’s a record store in the basement. All right across the street at the corner of K and 6th.
For your other grocery needs, there’s a Whole Foods one block away at 6th and H, a Giant at 3rd and H and Trader Joe’s at 350 Florida Ave. NE.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS
Indigo (243 K St. NE): Great Indian food three blocks away with a lovely outdoor patio + bar.
Laos in Town (250 K St. NE): Laotian restaurant with a nice bar and outdoor seating. Get the crispy rice salad and the whole crispy rock fish!
Café Fili (701 2nd St. NE): Mediterranean food with patio seating, nice for lunch, dinner, coffee or a glass of wine.
Cane (403 H St. NE): Popular Caribbean street food and cocktails.
Ethiopic (401 H St. NE): Wonderful Ethiopian food, a must-have in D.C. Get a giant sampler platter and share it.
Sidamo Coffee & Tea (417 H St. NE): Good local coffee shop.
Fancy Radish (600 H St. NE): An upscale vegetarian restaurant non-vegetarians love, too.
Fresca Taqueria (701 H St. NE): Mexican restaurant with a lush outdoor patio, good margaritas and live music on weekends.
Ben’s Chili Bowl (1001 H St. NE): This is not the original Ben’s, which is on U St. NW, but you can get a classic DC halfsmoke here.
The Pursuit Wine Bar and Kitchen (1025 H St. NE): Good for a glass of wine and appetizers.
Granville Moore’s (1238 H St. NE): A hole-in-wall neighborhood institution great for Belgian beer and mussels. It has poor signage outside, so make sure you don’t walk right past it.
Queen Vic (1206 H St. NE): A British pub popular with locals, with surprisingly good food.
Maketto (1351 H St. NE): Great, very hip Cambodian and Taiwanese-inspired cuisine with a cocktail bar at night some boutique retail. Get the fried chicken with five-spice caramel, the sourdough scallion pancakes, the bao, or pretty much anything.
Mozzeria (1300 H St. NE): Neapolitan pizza. This restaurant is deaf-owned, and many of the people who work there are deaf (the menu will help you communicate).
Stable (1324 H St. NE): Swiss-American restaurant where you can also buy pastries for caryout.
Sospeso (1344 H St. NE): Mediterranean food with a nice bar.
OTHER SHOPPING
Solid State Books (600 H St. NE): Wonderful independent bookstore.
A. Litteri (517 Morse St. NE): Old-school Italian grocery and deli that’s been in the neighborhood for decades. Good for picking up a bottle of wine or an Italian sub.
Union Market (1309 5th St NE): The food hall vendors inside rotate, but there’s tons to sample and love in here. It gets very crowded on the weekends. The area surrounding the market is also full of shops and restaurants.
La Cosecha (1280 4th St. NE): A Latin American food hall and market with art, coffee, papusas, arepas, tacos and more. A fun place to go for brunch and kid-friendly.
Eastern Market (225 7th St. SE): An old-school market with butchers, fishmongers, cheese stand, bakery, etc. There’s also a farmer’s market and flea market outside on the weekends, and lots of other coffee shops and restaurants in the area. Good for an extended day of walking around, not just a meal.
SOME MORE DESTINATIONS
Library of Congress: A less-visited monument, but really beautiful inside.
U.S. Botanical Garden: About a half-hour walk, past the Supreme Court and through the Capitol grounds (downhill there, uphill back).
National Arboretum: A spectacular gem if you’re visiting with a car, about a 10-minute drive away. Great for a hike, run, picnic or a walk. Enter on R Street.
National Building Museum: It’s not part of the Smithsonian, so tickets aren’t free. But it’s worth visiting just to spend some time in the atrium, no ticket required. And the gift shop is full of great D.C. items.
Metro stops at Union Station and NoMa-Galludet are about a 10-minute walk away and easily connect on the red line to downtown Washington, the mall and other attractions. Union Station also serves Amtrak and inter-city bus lines like Greyhound.
The free H Street streetcar stops two blocks away and is a convenient way to visit restaurants and entertainment along H Street. Several bus stops are within a couple of blocks, as are multiple Capital Bikeshare stations.
Everything you need -- groceries, drug store, restuarants, coffee -- are easily walkable.
