Adequate place to stay but could be cleaner
The location is great. Just a short walk into the city. Be aware booking through AirBnB only entitles you to a single set of toiletries, not like you have booked through the hotel
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Essence. It provided what we needed, and was very close to described. They booked us in to the wrong room type, but did a great job resolving this. Their description says no pots or utensils. It would have been great to be forewarned that there were also no plates or cups. When I asked about breakfast bowls, I was told to go buy some at a nearby shop. Turns out the nearby shop didn't sell bowls. Then the hotel finally provided two cardboard ones, which were adequate for our needs and solved our problem. If not for these two issues, that they eventually solved, I'd probably give Essense 5 stars as everything else is as you'd expect from the description. Final thing to note - getting fresh towels is only done as part of getting your room serviced, which is $35 at time of writing.
