Montgomery · 民居里的独立房间 · 1室0床2.0卫 · 可住3人 · The Loom Room
Quaint and quiet private room with a queen and a twin bed and personal sink/vanity. Decorated with antique furniture and a vintage (working!) traditional weaving loom, this second story bedroom looks out onto over 9 acres of park like farm property. Enjoy coffee or libations on the patio with firepit or porch, hang out with the friendly chickens and even collect your own eggs. Must be cat friendly, a couple of charming felines live here. Quiet and private front bedroom in an 1850s farmhouse on top of a hill. One queen bed, one twin, and in room sink and mini fridge at the end of the long second floor hall. There is a functioning antique loom that has been in my family since 1972 in the space in the process of restoring for use. VERY quiet window air conditioner/de humidifier and extra space heater available if needed. The room is lockable with towels and extra bed linens provided. The house has plenty of funky wallpaper and maximalist charm, filled with antiques, art, roller skates, and trinkets. Home is a private residence without children, just a couple friendly felines- Poofy will even do high fives and shakes for treats. The original 1850 barn has an operating woodshop and attached chicken coop with 17, all different breeds and colors, chickens. You may see me and my crew working on, loading in/out our varying projects.
I had a wonderful stay at Rachel's house. Rachel is a fantastic host who was helpful and friendly throughout my stay. We had some good conversations. Her home is comfortable, cozy & decorated thoughtfully. I enjoyed walking on the property, relaxing on the hammock and watching the chickens roam around. It's a really peaceful setting and close to a variety of interesting places to explore. I highly recommend booking a stay at Rachel's house.
Great space! Clean, quiet, easy to find. Great deal for the price too. Rachel left coffee and fresh eggs out in the morning. Would highly recommend.
We throughly enjoyed our stay. Rachel and her boyfriend Chris are a friendly cool couple. We enjoyed sharing stories over local wine next to campfire. My wife and daughter loved the company of the cats. Her house is full of cool art, poster and quirky collectibles. We made breakfast with fresh eggs she shared w us. We are so glad we got a to stay at Rachel’s house. We would love to return in the future!
Rachel was a wonderful host! Very responsive, friendly, and generous. Her home is lovely, and we really enjoyed our stay here.
Old property located 1 mile north of the historic town of Montgomery, NY. The land is park-like and easy to get to. 5 minutes to Angry Orchard or City Winery Hudson Valley, the house is a great base for other Hudson Valley and Catskills attractions.
The town of Montgomery has plenty of dining, shopping and dayspa/beauty options. Grocery, wine & liquor, farmstand, and gas stations all within 5 minutes.
Short trips to Mohonk Mountain House, Shawangunk and Minnewaska State Park, Newburgh waterfront, Beacon, and New Paltz. I love driving through the mountains to roller skate at Skatetime in Accord and stop for dinner at Roughcut Brewery or Mountain Brauhaus. This spot is an EXCELLENT leaf peeping, apple picking, or bicycling jump off point. Wallkill rail trail starts 10 minutes away.
Spend a day visiting Storm King Arts Center or Dia Beacon, hang on the Hudson waterfront or historic Newburgh at Jetset Tikibar or an excellent romantic dinner at Mama Roux. Tons of area breweries, cideries, and wineries including but not limited to Hudson Whiskey/Tuthilltown Spirits, Angry Orchard, City Winery, Newburgh Brewing Co, Hudson Valley Brewery, Bad Seed Cider, Industrial Arts, and Arrowwood Farms.
You will definitely want a car or at least some savvy Uber or Lyft use. There is plenty of parking and it is a good jump off point for bike tours of the area. Stewart/Newburgh international airport is 15 minutes and Beacon Metro North train station is 25 minutes away.
