Travellers Rest has an evocatively wanderlust theme. This cosy cottage is situated in the heart of Wilton, the ancient capital of Wessex. With a choice of local shops & eateries it offers ultra convenience. Explore historic Wilton , Salisbury, Stonehenge & Bath with delightful nature & picturesque churches on your doorstep. With a co-op, a host of foody pubs & coffee shops. It features a luxury 6ft superking bed & large sofa bed fit for 1 adult or 2 kids, brand new kitchen and parking nearby. We are thrilled we have super host status and we pride ourselves on providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay. As you enter the cottage you are greeted with a stylish living room; the ideal space to put your feet up and relax. The open plan living room/ dining room offers a flexible space to spend a quiet evening in. The sofa bed offers versatile accommodation options for an extra adult or two young children. Upstairs, the luxury super king-sized bed is a perfect place to catch some rest after a fun day exploring Wilton and nearby cities such as Salisbury. The bed can also be configured as twin beds on request. The cottage is fully equipped with everything one would need such as the brand-new kitchen upstairs. With a co-op grocery store nearby, it provides the ideal convenience to cook up something and enjoy a meal together around the dining table. Alternatively, there are two traditional food pubs, gourmet pizzeria , cafe and traditional coffee shops all in walkable distance of Travellers Rest! This property is perfect for both visitor short term stays and longer midterm lettings such as for business people working away from home and looking for a comfortable and convenient base. With fibre broadband it provides reliable and fast internet access and the large dining room table can be used as a work station. For longer stays of a month or more there will be a discounted rate available. A level of energy usage will be included for the longer stays and any extra used by the guest is payable as an extra. Please ask on enquiry for level included as this varies by season. Weekly total including discount- £405 excluding air bnb fees and cleaning. Monthly total including discount- £1447 ( contract will be required) excluding air bnb fees and cleaning. Unfortunately due to the bathroom being upstairs this property is unsuitable for those who cannot use stairs.

Had a very pleasant stay at Travellers Restaurant, perfectly situated for all my needs. It was exactly as described and ideal communication with the host, the house was clean and tidy and had everything I needed, would definitely recommend a stay here in a lovely part of the country.

The hosts go the extra mile to make their lovely little cottage welcoming and cosy. Everything was super comfortable too, a nice big bedroom upstairs with an adjoining kitchen and bathroom generously stocked with everything you're likely to need. Thoughtful touches like a cornucopia of fruit and chocolate as well as some basic supplies like milk, tea, and a loaf of bread to greet us were lovely. Also, the stack of travel books, guides to local walks, and loads of board games were thoughtfully provided and meant we had plenty to do when it rained. This lovely cottage is ideal for exploring Wiltshire. It's centrally located in Wilton with a Co-op shop directly opposite the front door so handy for getting supplies in. There are two decent pubs serving food close by (The Pembroke Arms gets our vote) and Salisbury, Stonehenge etc are just a short drive away.
This cottage is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully presented. It is hosted by the family that owns it, and they went out of their way to help us settle in for our 3-month stay, including offering helpful suggestions for my son to get involved with local activities and kids, and even driving us to get a Christmas tree! The location could hardly be better for exploring the best of Southern England. Wilton market square is just outside the door with its historic charm. The only downside was the grocer across the street with its lorries making deliveries starting at 5:30 am. But we found that manageable and the benefits were so numerous it was easy to overlook. We would highly recommend this cozy cottage in the countryside!

Situated next to Wilton square where a farmer's market is held every Thursday, this home is a great stay! Within walkable distance of Wilton house which is considered one of the best estate houses in Europe. With its expansive gardens and exquisite art collection in the traditional state rooms this location really has it all! The Crown, Bridgeton, Emma and young Victoria had scenes filmed at Wilton house so see if you can spot any of the series' locations!
For nature lovers, Travellers Rest is situated near some super walks such as Grovely woods and a park within a 3-minute walk that has access to the river and it is often a nice place to take a stroll. There is also a beautiful Italian church of St Marys and St Nicholas a 3-minute walk and an old church ruins right on your doorstep to immerse yourself in Wilton as the ancient capital of Wessex! Additionally, convenient free parking is just 3 minutes away from Travellers Rest.
This property is perfect for both short term stays and longer midterm letting such as business people working away from home and looking for a comfortable and convenient base.
This family run home is also ideal if you wish to visit Salisbury - just 3 miles away! The Cathedral containing the Magna Carta is often a travellers favourite, and they have a spire tour for those looking for a scenic view. We would recommend Stonehenge and the stone rings in Avebury.
Wilton is well connected by several bus routes to Salisbury, Shaftesbury, Warminster and Bath. Salisbury train station is a 15 minute drive away or a short bus ride. There are direct trains to London, Southampton, Bristol and Bath.
A bus stop less than a minute walk away goes directly to Salisbury. Salisbury is a must visit if you intend to stay in the area.
For guests coming by car, there is free parking available in South Street car park at the Michael Herbert Hall, a 3 minute walk from the cottage. Guests can briefly park opposite Travellers Rest to unload before moving the car to South Street - the Michael Herbert Hall parking area.

I grew up in the wilds of Africa before settling in England in 1984. After many years working in marketing for a host of brewing companies, I set up a travel company in 2003 creating once in a lifetime travel experiences which inspired The Traveller’s Rest theme. I am married with 3 daughters, (now grown up young ladies), and 2 Springer Spaniels. I love travel, golf, spending quality family time, long dog walks & cooking as I am a trained chef.
