The Gite was great and much bigger than we anticipated and we loved the charm of staying in the chateau. I had doubts about it being part of a larger camping property, however the site was well looked after and not too busy (June) with a playground for the kids, a nice pool area, fabulous restaurant, and store with fresh croissants every morning.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Busy days in amazing local museums and then back to this tranquil haven. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The restaurant served delicious food and it all felt like a wonderful treat. We all loved the swimming pool and I had a lovely run in the local village and surrounding fields. Even the beds were extremely comfortable. The on site team were extremely helpful with everything. I am highly recommending to all my friends and family and would love to come back one day! Thank you very much for having us.

The location of the chateau was brilliant, we spent five days here with our three children aged 12, 9 and 3. We were a short drive away from a number of popular tourist spots (the Bayeux tapestry and D day beaches). The facilities on site were ideal, the kids loved the outdoor heated pool and football pitch right outside the chateau. We bought fresh pastries and bread from the onsite shop every morning which was heaven. The accomodation had everything we needed, was clean if a little basic but the price reflects this and I would return to stay here again. Thank you Mederic!

Wij verbleven een week in gîte Hortensias met een gezin van 4. Zowel wij als de kinderen vonden het een rustig en aangenaam verblijf. 's morgens kan je vers brood halen in het winkeltje. Er is een fijn restaurantje, een speeltuintje en een zwembad. Ideale uitvalsbasis om steden als Bayeux en Caen te bezichtigen en niet ver van de D-day beaches. kortom, mooie historische locatie voor wie van de natuur en rust houdt. Ook fijn voor (kleine) kinderen.

This place is incredible. We spent 10 days surrounded by nature and history. My kids really enjoyed fishing in the pond, the pool or just buying the fresh bread every morning. A place worth knowing. Thank you Meredic!
